SayIt Error: No Shortcut Matched What You Said

  • Dark
    Light

Issue:

When I try to run a voice shortcut in SayIt, the shortcut audio meter displays the message, "No shortcut matched what you said."

sayit_my_SC_NoMatch

This is a "no match" error that indicates that SayIt was not able to match what you said to the list of shortcut names.

What to do:
  • If the recording is cut off at the beginning or the end, the voice client might not have enough audio to recognize the shortcut name. Make sure that you press and hold the shortcut hotkey or button to record the entire time that you say the shortcut name, and release to stop recording after you are done speaking.
  • Check that you are saying the shortcut name accurately. Open the Shortcuts menu in SayIt and look at My Shortcuts to see your list of shortcuts.
  • Say only one voice command per key press.
  • Check the shortcut name for typos. For example, if you say "FINANCIAL SERVICES" but the name was spelled "FINANCILA SERVICES," SayIt will return a no match error.
  • If are using a single syllable word for the shortcut name, try adding a second word, use a slightly longer phrase, or use words that are easier for SayIt to recognize.
