SayIt Error: Audio Recording Too Quiet

Issue:

When I press my dictation hotkey in SayIt and try to dictate, a message displays that my audio is too quiet.

An example of what this might sound like is below:

The voice client attempts to inform you when it does not detect good audio quality. This message will appear if you press down on the dictation hotkey and SayIt does not hear any audio for 5 or more seconds.

What to do:
  • Be sure to speak clearly into your microphone and to hold the dictation button down while you dictate. Release the button when you are done dictating.
  • Make sure your microphone is properly connected.
  • Try running the Microphone Setup Wizard to recalibrate your audio. To run the wizard, open the Options menu in SayIt and select Microphone Setup.
  • You may need to adjust the volume on your device. Click the Listen button on SayIt to hear your last transcription. If necessary, adjust the volume on your audio device then try dictating again.
  • Make sure the correct sound device is selected in your Control Panel Audio properties and run the Microphone Setup Wizard to verify that the voice client is using the correct audio device.
  • For PC audio, make sure that your sound card is correctly configured.
