SayIt Error: Unable to Upload Audio to Server

Issue:

While recording a long dictation, SayIt displayed an error message that said, "Unable to upload audio to the server." The recording stopped automatically and the transcript was not pasted into my application. (In the administrator console on the Review & Correct page the item shows a zero (0) length audio, and the dictation is marked as "Canceled".)

This issue occurs if you record a long dictation (approx. 15-20 minutes) that reaches the maximum audio file size limit in the database. Once this audio file size limit is reached, the error is presented. The dictation transcript won’t appear in a third party application, but will appear in the SayIt window.

What do do:
  • For this dictation instance you can copy the transcript from the SayIt window and manually paste it into your application.
  • To keep this from happening, record shorter dictations. Stop recording more often, take a breath, and then start a new dictation.
