About the Shortcut Menu

  • The hotkey that is configured to open and close the shortcut menu is listed on the Settings screen, which you can get to by clicking the gear icon below the dictation button. You can change the shortcut hotkey there. See Settings (Popup Shortcut Hotkey)
  • The Popup Shortcut Hotkey will open and close the shortcut menu. The shortcut menu remains open until you close it.
  • The shortcut menu initially opens in the middle of the primary monitor. Click the nVoq logo in the upper-left corner on the shortcut menu window and drag to move the window around on the desktop. The next time you open the menu, it will open in the location to which you last moved it.
  • The shortcut menu is always on top of other applications on your desktop.
  • The shortcut menu only lists INSERT TEXT shortcuts.
  • The shortcut menu does NOT display alternative shortcut names.
  • The shortcuts in the menu are updated with changes made to them (if any) when the menu is closed and re-opened.
  • When the shortcut menu is open, the system tray menu option will say "Hide Shortcuts". You can also click that to close the window (instead of using the hotkey or clicking the X in the shortcut menu window).
  • The shortcut menu window can be resized by selecting an edge and dragging when your mouse changes to a double-sided arrow.
  • If you accidentally make the menu full screen, get it back to the previous size by double-clicking in the header area above the purple line.
