Vcore (tm) Release 11.2
December 2016
NEW FEATURES IN THE 11.2 RELEASE
-------------------------------
New Features in SayIt:
---------------------
Summary of New Features in SayIt:
- Faster Dictation Results: Our developers have done a lot of work to get SayIt to produce noticeably faster dictation results in the 11.2 release.
- Support for macOS Sierra: SayIt is now tested and approved for use on the latest Mac operating system, macOS Sierra (version 10.12).
- Support for Dictaphone PowerMic III: Support has been added for the Dictaphone PowerMic III hand-held microphone.
- Button Mapping Change for Dictaphone PowerMic II: The button mapped to the PowerMic II for opening the Select and Say window and pasting the Select and Say transcript into the system of record has changed. This functionality is now mapped to the checkmark button, which is the same as on the PowerMic III.
- Keyboard Automation Running Message: In order to minimize the possibility of keyboard automation failure due to user interruption, a message will now appear while a longer keyboard automation is running to let you know that a shortcut is in process.
- All Shortcuts Automatically Stop on Exit or Logout: All shortcuts will now stop running when a user either exits or logs out of the voice client.
- Fix for Vocabulary Terms with Apostrophe: A fix for the following defect has been added in this release: Words with an apostrophe (') were not being recognized by the Enhanced dictation engine. The term appeared to be added successfully to the vocabulary list, but would not work in a dictation. This issue has been corrected.
New Features in SayIt Administrator:
-----------------------------------
Summary of New Features in SayIt Administrator:
- New Dictation Topics: Two new topics, Pathology and Veterinary, are available for the Enhanced dictation engine.
- New Fast Dictation Account Setting: On the Add/Edit Account page there is a new setting under SayIt Group called "Fast Dictation". This setting allows voice client users to try out a different way (WebSocket protocol) for SayIt to access the dictation server which should result in faster dictation results. This is a BETA feature for 11.2.
- Organization Vocabulary Now Updated for User Accounts Immediately: When vocabulary terms are added for an organization on the Vocabulary page in SayIt Administrator (either as an individual term or by uploading multiple terms on a spreadsheet), user accounts are now updated with the new terms immediately instead of overnight. It may take some time, so if you have more than one word to add, be sure to use the feature listed below.
- Add More Than One Single Vocabulary Term at a Time: There's a new "Add Another" link which makes it faster to add more than one individual terms. Since words are now updated in user accounts immediately (see above feature), adding a new term may take a bit longer than it did previously. Use this feature to load all the single terms you want to add before clicking the "Add" button (so you'll only have to wait once).
- Capitalizing and Lowercasing RegEx Substitutions Now Handled by the Dictation Server: Formatting commands "caps," "all caps," "lowercase," and "overwrite" were previously handled as RegEx substitutions that were added individually for each tenant organization. These commands will now work for all organizations automatically as built-in substitutions and no longer need to be added separatly. As built-in substitutions they will not appear on the Substitutions page, but they will show up as substitutions on the Review & Correct page.
- Numbered List RegEx Substitutions Now Handled by the Dictation Server: Formatting commands "number next," and "next number" that create numbered lists were previously handled as RegEx substitutions that were added individually for each tenant organization. These commands will now work for all organizations automatically and are handled as built-in substitutions. They will not appear on the Substitutions page, but they will show up as substitutions on the Review & Correct page.
- Username Now Listed on Account Notification Account Menu: The account notification feature allows you to send notification messages directly to individual voice client users. The Accounts drop-down menu previously only listed first and last name, which was a problem if two users in a group had the same first and last name. Now that list also includes username.
- Even More Security Before Deleting Organizations: Enhanced security has been added to make it even more difficult to accidentally delete an organization. In addition to the requirement that the organization be disabled before it can be deleted (added in the previous release), now you must also check a box on the confirmation message before you can click OK to delete the organization.
- Fix for Vocabulary Terms with Apostrophe: A fix for the following defect has been added in this release: Words with an apostrophe (') were not being recognized by the Enhanced dictation engine. The term appeared to be added successfully to the vocabulary list, but would not work in a dictation. If the word was added to an organization or account that had no other vocabulary terms, you may have seen a system error when attempting to add the word in SayIt Administrator. These issues have been corrected.
- Fix for Account Notification Names with Apostrophe: A fix for the following defect has been added in this release: If the name of an Account Notification includes an apostrophe, the notification cannot be edited. This issue has been corrected.
- Fix for Moving Account Shortcut to Group Organization: A fix for the following defect has been added in this release: When trying to move an account shortcut to a group organization, an administrator would get an error stating "The system encountered an error trying to copy Shortcut". This has been corrected.
- Fix for Shortcuts Not Updating in SayIt Automatically After Being Updated in SayIt Administrator: If a user did not have any account shortcuts, their shortcuts list (in My Shortcuts and in the Popup menu) were not being updated automatically after changes were made to shortcuts in SayIt Administrator. The user would only see changes in SayIt either after opening and closing My Shortcuts or by logging out and logging back in to SayIt. This has been fixed and changes made to shortcuts in SayIt Administrator now show up in SayIt within five minutes.
New Features in the SayIt Audio Guide:
--------------------------------------
- Nuance Dictaphone PowerMic III: Support has been added for the Dictaphone PowerMic III hand-held microphone.
- Nuance Dictaphone PowerMic II: The button used to Open the Select and Say window or to Accept a Select and Say dictation (and paste it into the system of record) has changed. This fuctionality is now mapped to the checkmark button, which is the same as on the PowerMic III.
