SayIt and AgentAssist

New Features & Improvements in SayIt/AgentAssist
  • SayIt Launch without Separate Java Install for Windows (ALPHA) - We are ALPHA testing a new way to launch SayIt / AgentAssist on a Windows machine that does not involve a separate Java install and Java Web Start. Using this new method, an executable file is downloaded from a URL. This file launches the SayIt / AgentAssist client, adds necessary directory files to the user's computer, and creates a desktop shortcut.  The desktop shortcut currently has the SayIt "S" icon and is named "nVoqClient" followed by the name of the system from which it was launched (i.e. "test"). Subsequent client sessions can then be launched using the desktop shortcut. Once the user logs in to the client, the client appears with the theme configured for their company organization, as usual. (B-14496, documented 10/18/2018; B-14512 [desktop shortcut], documented 10/23/2018)
  • Misleading Fast Dictation Error Message Updated - The error that displays when a Fast Dictation user has submitted a series of dictations that is consuming the maximum number of active dictation jobs that the dictation servers can process at one time has been updated. It used to say, "You have reached the allowed number of active dictations." which lead some people to believe that they had run out of dictations.  The error message now says, "Too many pending dictations at this time. Please try again later." (D-10994, documented 11/2/2018)
  • "Letter Next" Built-In Substitution - The command "letter next" can now be used to create a lettered list from A to Z. Items in a list that goes beyond "Z" will be numbered, starting with "27". This is a "built-in" substitution available to all dictation users. Though it will NOT appear on the Substitutions page at any organization level, it WILL appear as a substitution on the Review & Correct page in the Item Detail window for individual dictations. The command must be used within one single dictation; if you start a new dictation, the lettering starts over as a new list. If you have a "letter next" substitutions loaded for any organizations or accounts you should remove them before 14.0 is deployed on your system in order to avoid problems. (B-14470, documented 11/16/2018)
  • Faster, More Accurate Vocabulary - Work has been done to make vocabulary terms return faster in dictation transcripts when they are newly added via SayIt. In addition to being able to generate a pronunciation for new terms faster, the system should have a better understanding of what the new term sounds like. (B-13676, documented 11/27/2018)
  • Resource Location Change for Client Launched from Executable - The resources required to run Vision Shortcuts, HTML Shortcuts, and Fast Shortcuts are saved in a different directory if the SayIt / AgentAssist client is launched from the executable (.exe) file that is packaged with the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) instead of launching with Java Web Start. Instead of C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\ (where these resources are usually saved), the resources directory for this client install is ..\appdata\roaming\nVoq. (B-14528, documented 12/21/2018)
Bug Fixes in SayIt/AgentAssist
  • My Vocabulary Warns When Numeral is Added in Sounds Like - We do not recommend a numeral be included in a sounds like pronunciation for a vocabulary term, but in 13.2 it was possible to enter one. This can be problematic, as it would be an unpredictable pronunciation. So in 14.0 we now warn you if a numeral has been entered into the Sounds Like field in SayIt. (D-11031, documented 9/12/2018)
  • Dictations of "plus [number]" Return with Word "Plus" Rather Than Symbol in Direct Text - Dictations such as, "plus two slash four" were returning as "plus2/4" instead of "+2/4" when Direct Text was turned on (but would return correctly with the symbol with non-Direct Text). Logic has been added in 14.0 to correct this behavior in Direct Text. (D-10836, documented 10/30/2018)
  • Word "Period" Changed to Punctuation Mark Followed by Lowercase Word in Direct Text - When dictating in Direct Text, the word "period" is sometimes changed to the punctuation mark (.) and then followed by a lowercase word. The same dictations in non-Direct Text left it as the word "period" in the transcript. Logic has been added in 14.0 to correct the behavior in Direct Text to change this to a punctuation mark. (D-10835, documented 10/30/2018)
  • SayIt Error for SpeechMike on Mac - When a SpeechMike that was previously configured for PC is updated to the latest firmware and used on a Mac, SayIt was presenting an error message that stated, "Your Microphone is not configured for Mac OS X. Install and properly configure the SpeechControl4Mac software." This error message is deprecated. A firmware upgrade for SpeechMike devices updates them to be used on either PC or Mac. (D-11076, documented 11/2/2018)
  • Version 2 HTML Shortcuts Cannot Paste into Client - The new "Version 2" HTML that are currently being BETA tested are unable to paste using the Paste button directly into the SayIt / AgentAssist window if "Show Paste History" was disabled on the Options menu. This has been fixed in 14.0. (D-11141, documented 12/20/2018)
  • Automatic Account Lockout After Password Change in Admin - If a user's password is changed in the Administrator console while the user is logged in to the SayIt / AgentAssist client, the account is logged out of the client but then becomes immediately locked the next time the user attempts to log back in. Beginning in 14.0, if a user attempts a dictation or shortcut in SayIt / AgentAssist after the password has been changed in Administrator, the user will be taken back to the Login screen where the user can log in with the new password. The same thing will happen if the user is logged into the Wireless Mic app and the password is changed in SayIt or vice versa. (D-11115, documented 1/4/2019
  • Improved Fast Dictation Connection Handling - Connectivity issues with Fast Dictation could result in the dictation server being tied up for hours, unable to take more work. This issue has been fixed in 14.0. The dictation sever will now identify issues and free up to take more work within a few seconds. (D-11208, documented 1/21/2019)
  • Processing Delays - On January 26 and 27, we experienced delays in the post processing of dictation which includes persisting audio in cloud storage, logging the dictation transaction information, and decrementing the concurrent dictation count for the user performing the dictation.  As a result, some users received error messages indicating that they had reached their concurrent dictation limit even though they had finished the prior dictations and received the transcribed text. In 14.0, we free-up the concurrent dictation count immediately after dictations complete, allowing the user to start the next dictation immediately. Post processing is then proceed asynchronously, without any direct link to dictation processing. (D-11236, documented 2/1/2019)
Features Removed from SayIt/AgentAssist
  • N/A

SayIt Administrator

New Features & Improvements in SayIt Administrator
  • New Way to Extend Log Collection Period - A new Update Log Date link on the Logging page allows you to extend the length of time that the logging level is increased and that logs will be automatically collected and saved for an account. Previously you had to first disable and then re-enable it to extend the logging period. (D-10996, documented 9/13/2018)
  • New Filter Options on Subscription Management Report - The Subscription Management report now includes an optional radio button filter at the top of the page to refine report data based on user billing status. Use the filter to include report data for all users, only billable users, only trial users, or only non-billable users. (B-14430, documented 9/14/2018)
  • Subscription Management Report Improvements - Several changes have been made to the report in this release, including: removing the "Active Trial" and "Trial" columns, removing the "Deleted" column, renaming the "No Activity" column to "Inactive", and adding a "Total" column (which is the total number of "Active" and "Inactive" users). The "Term" column has been renamed "Plan", and the plans listed now include "Monthly Usage" and "Monthly Recurring" to distinguish between usage-based plans and other types of monthly billed plans. There is also now an Include menu at the top of the page which allows you to configure which users will be included in the report data (all users, only billable users, only trial users, or only non-billable users). (B-14017, documented 9/18/18)
  • Help Link Added to API Key Page - The API Key page in SayIt Administrator (visible only to administrators with a Customer Administrator role at the Tenant level) now has a question mark icon link in the upper right corner of the page, which goes directly to the API Key documentation in the SayIt Administrator online help. (D-11044, documented 9/18/2018)
  • Revert Instead of Reset Profile -  If a user has too much sentence modeling (generally from corrections done on the Review & Correct page added to the account in a nightly job) the system will eventually fail to add any additional sentence modeling or vocabulary. When this happens, the profile is reset, which removes the user's existing sentence modeling and vocabulary. Instead of resetting, the profile will now be reverted to the last profile that was working before the failure to allow the user to continue to use existing sentence modeling and vocabulary. (B-14302, documented 10/17/2018)
  • New Subscription for Enterprise Licensing - A new subscription Plan for pre-paid bulk licensing has been added. If configured for the tenant at the System level, the new Plan appears on the Accounts page as "Shortcuts and Dictation (Enterprise)". Billing subscriptions are managed manually for these plans at this time, but the Accuracy Optimization Service can still be added individually to separate accounts. Accounts with this plan will show up in the Subscription Management report as "Enterprise". When 14.0 is deployed, any accounts that had already had this subscription type (set up manually by nVoq) will be migrated over to the new plan in SayIt Administrator. (B-14510, documented 10/30/2018)
  • SYSTEM-Level Account Enabled Checkbox - At the SYSTEM level in SayIt Administrator on the System Accounts page there is a new Enabled checkbox that allows you to disable a system-level account. The checkbox is displayed when the account is created, and defaults to checked (enabled). This was added to fix an issue with creating system-level accounts in 14.0.  (D-11046, documented at 11/5/2018)
  • New Subscription for 3-Year Term - A new subscription plan for a 3-year term has been added. If configured for the tenant at the System level, the new plan appears on the Accounts page as "Shortcuts and Dictation - 3 Year (Yearly)". The plan is billed annually at a three-year rate. Accounts with this plan will show up in the Subscription Management report as "3-Year Recurring".  (B-14511, documented 11/14/2018)
  • New Administrator Console - Work has started on a new version of the Administrator console to implement a modern framework which will allow us to update the user interface as well as transition to the user of APIs on the back end.
    • The first page that is available on the new tool is the sign in screen, which can be accessed by going to the URL for the system you use to access the SayIt or AgentAssist client followed by /admin, for example https://test.nvoq.com/admin. Once logged in, you will see just a welcome page.
      (B-14472, documented 11/2/2018)
    • Tenant, Company, Division, and Group level administrators with any type of Admin Role can log in, including the Shortcut Designer role. (Note: The Shortcut Designer role cannot log in to the "old"/current SayIt Administrator.) Additional work items will resolve access issues:  B-14530 - System admin access.
      (B-14534, documented 11/27/2018)
    • Users required to change password on initial login will see a Change Password modal appear when they first log in. Users can also change their own password from the Account icon at the top right of the Administrator screen.
      (B-14529, documented 11/27/2018)
    • System-level administrators can log in. If the user account is new, system user is required the change the password on first log in.
      (B-14592, documented 16/6/2018)
  • Faster, More Accurate Vocabulary - Work has been done to make vocabulary terms return faster in dictation transcripts when they are newly added via SayIt Administrator. In addition to being able to generate a pronunciation for new terms faster, the system should have a better understanding of what the new term sounds like. (B-13676, documented 11/27/2018)
  • New Subscription for 5-Year Term - A new subscription plan for a 5-year term has been added. If configured for the tenant at the System level, the new plan appears on the Accounts page as "Shortcuts and Dictation - 5 Year (Yearly)". The plan is billed annually at a five-year rate. Accounts with this plan will show up in the Subscription Management report as "5-Year Recurring".  (B-14591, documented 11/28/2018)
Bug Fixes in SayIt Administrator
  • Tenant Admin with "Read Only" and "Transcriber" Role See System Error on API Key Page - A tenant-level admin with a "Read Only" or "Transcriber" role sees an error stating, "The system encountered an error trying to retrieve API Keys" when viewing the API Key page. Only administrators with a "Customer Administrator" role at the tenant level are even supposed to see the API Key page. In 14.0, a tenant-level admin with a "Read Only" or "Transcriber" role will not see the API Keys page at all. (D-10959, documented 9/12/2018)
  • HTML Shortcuts Parameter Grayed-Out when Admin-Only Given Client Access - The HTML Shortcuts setting on the Accounts page is grayed-out and cannot be changed when the Client Access checkbox is cleared and an Admin-Only user is created. If you later go back to edit the Admin-Only account to add client access, the HTML Shortcuts setting remains grayed-out even after you put a checkmark in the Client Access checkbox. The work-around was to save the account with the Client Access box checked, and then go back and edit the HTML Shortcuts property, which would be available again after saving the account. This has been fixed in 14.0. The setting will now become available as soon as the Client Access box is checked. (D-10995, documented 9/12/2018)
  • Inability to Switch To/From General Medicine 8kHz for Existing Group - In the previous release, when editing an existing group with any dictation topic other than General Medicine 8kHz on the Organizations page, the General Medicine 8kHz dictation topic was not available from the Topic drop-down menu on the Client Settings tab. If the General Medicine 8kHz dictation topic was selected when the group was created, no topics other than that topic were available on the Topic menu when editing the group. This has been fixed in 14.0. You can now switch between the 8kHz topic and other dictation topics for existing groups. As a reminder, the 8kHz dictation topic is used for back-end transcription only. (D-10943, documented 9/13/2018)
  • Logging On Checkmark Not Cleared After Logging Expires - In previous releases, the check mark in the Logging On column on the Logging page would remain even after the Log Collection Expires date had passed, making it look like logging was enabled for a user even if it really wasn't. Going forward, the Logging On check box and the date in the Log Collection Expires column will be cleared the next time the user logs in to the SayIt/AgentAssist client after logging expires. Note that the date will only be cleared if logging was actively enabled, so old dates will remain until the next time logging is enabled (and expires) for the user. (D-11001, documented 9/14/2018)
  • Problems Handling Vocabulary with Apostrophe - SayIt Administrator would throw an error when creating accounts in an organization that had a vocabulary term with an apostrophe, as well as when adding a vocabulary word with an apostrophe if it was the first word added to the organization. This has been fixed in 14.0. (D-10901, documented 9/14/2018)
  • Error when Adding Vocabulary for a User with a Lot of Sentence Modeling - If a user has an abundance of sentence modeling (generally from corrections done on the Review & Correct page added to the account in a nightly job), it is possible to start getting error messages in SayIt Administrator when attempting to add vocabulary terms to the user's account due to the user's language model becoming too large. Work has been done to mitigate this by compressing the language model. (B-14301, documented 9/14/2018)
  • User Billed Twice for AOS - When adding the Accuracy Optimization Service (AOS) and also changing a subscription Plan on a non-billable account, it was possible to have two subscriptions for AOS added to the account. This has been fixed. (D-11038, documented 9/18/2018)
  • Total Usage Report Shows Incorrect Data for Groups - In the 13.2 release there were some updates made to the Total Usage report and it was discovered that the Summary view would show incorrect data if a group was selected from the Organization menu at the top of the page. This has been fixed. Now if you select a group from the Organization menu, the Summary view will only include totals for the selected group. In addition to other changes in 13.2, the Custom Groups option has been removed from this report. This will remain absent from the report in 14.0. (D-11055, documented 10/11/2018)
  • SayIt Administrator Not Checking for 1MB Sentence Modeling / Vocabulary Limit - If a user has a lot of sentence modeling added due to many corrections made on the Review & Correct page, the size of the sentence modeling could exceed the 1MB limit and no longer allow sentence modeling or vocabulary terms to be added for the account. In order to mitigate this, the system will now check for the sentence modeling limit and newer sentence models from Review & Correct corrections will NOT BE ADDED. (D-10951, documented 11/15/2018)
  • Company and Group Not Updated in Subscription When User Changes Organization - The company and group organizations are not updated in the subscription on the billing management platform if the user is changed to a different organization. This was being manually updated by nVoq, but is now fixed. (D-11109, documented 12/6/2018)
  • Renewal Date Missing from Exported Subscription Management Report - The Renewal Date column, which appears in the Detail view of the Subscription Management report, was not included when exporting the report to a CSV file. This is the date that a yearly subscription will automatically renew, and it is now included in the file that is produced by clicking the Export All button at the bottom of the Detail view of the report. (D-11129, documented 12/18/2018)
  • Enabled Through Date Incorrect on Subscription Management Report for Canada - On the Canada system, the Enabled Through date was off by one day on the Subscription Management report. If set to the last day of the month (e.g. 10/31/2017) it was appearing on the report as one day earlier (e.g. 10/30/2017). This was only happening on the Canada system, not Healthcare or Secure, and has been fixed in 14.0. (D-11114, documented 1/9/2019)
  • Application Parameters Not Working with Alternative Name of Shortcuts -  In 13.2, if you have a shortcut that opens a file or application that includes application parameters, the application parameters would not work when the shortcut was run using an Alternative Name. This has been fixed in 14.0.  (D-11164, documented 1/10/2019)
Features Removed from SayIt Administrator
  • Audio Level & Audio Stats for Voice Shortcuts on Review & Correct Page - Audio statistics are not calculated for voice shortcuts, and as a result the Audio Level indicator for voice shortcuts in the Item Detail window on the Review & Correct page always appeared "low" and the audio statistics in the window all reported "0“. These indicators and statistics have been removed from the Item Detail window for voice shortcuts in 14.0. (D-11016, documented 10/30/2018)
  • Retired Transcriber Admin Role - The "Transcriber" Admin Role has been retired. This role was intended for transcriptionists, but was not being used. Admins with this role were able to listen to audio and make corrections to transcripts on the Review & Correct page, but could not make any other changes. Any accounts that have the role prior to the 14.0 deployment will be migrated to the "Read Only" role, which can monitor usage and generate reports but is not allowed to make any changes in the Administrator console. (B-14620, documented 12/19/2018)

Shortcut Designer

New Features & Improvements in Shortcut Designer
  • Truncated Breadcrumb Text for Long Organization Names - Very long organization names will be truncated in the breadcrumb text with an ellipsis (...) at the end, and you can hover over the organization name in the breadcrumbs to see the full text in a tooltip. The last organization in the list is displayed with the full name. (There is an issue using Internet Explorer 11 in which very long organization names do not wrap and may cover the trash and new shortcut (+) icons.) If the width of the Shortcut Designer window becomes too narrow, the breadcrumbs will collapse to just one breadcrumb showing the current location with a back arrow that will take you to a previous location. (B-14326, documented 9/17/2018)
  • Non-Admin User Can Copy Organization Shortcuts to My Shortcuts - A user without an Admin Role (who cannot create or edit organization shortcuts in Shortcut Designer) can now copy an organization shortcut to their own account. These users have a new option on the More Actions menu next to organization shortcuts (Copy to My Shortcuts). (B-14360, documented 9/19/2018)
  • Add or Edit Application Parameters - Shortcuts that Open an Application or File now include a field for Application Parameters in Shortcut Designer. (B-14323, documented 10/1/2018)
  • Shortcut Folders -  You can now create folders, add shortcuts to folders, remove shortcuts from folders, and delete folders in Shortcut Designer. A user with a non-admin role can add, edit, and delete their own accounts folders in Shortcut Designer. If you have a "Customer Administrator" or "Shortcut Designer" admin role you can add, edit, and delete organization folders (for all organizations to which you have access), as well as account folders for your own account and for all accounts in organizations to which you have access.  (B-14324, documented 10/4/2018)
  • Alternative Names for Organization Shortcuts -  An alternative name allows a shortcut to be recognized by more than one name as a voice shortcut, or to appear in the SayIt / AgentAssist Popup menu or My Shortcuts list with another name. You can now add multiple alternative names for organization shortcuts in Shortcut Designer, and you can make the alternative name visible (or not) in the Popup menu and in My Shortcuts in the SayIt / AgentAssist client. Alternative names for organization shortcuts are listed on the Shortcuts page in SayIt Administrator in the Alternatives column. (B-14489, documented 10/17/2018)
  • Alternative Names for Account Shortcuts -  You can also add multiple alternative names for account shortcuts in Shortcut Designer, and you can make the alternative name visible (or not) in the Popup menu and in My Shortcuts in the SayIt / AgentAssist client. This is a new feature for account shortcuts that is only available via Shortcut Designer; alternative names cannot be added for account shortcuts in SayIt/AgentAssist or in SayIt Administrator. (B-14499, documented 11/6/2018)
Bug Fixes in Shortcut Designer
  • Shortcut Designer Does Not Log Out when Browser is Closed - When you close a browser window or tab with Shortcut Designer running, the logged in session of Shortcut Designer remains logged in and opens automatically to that same account the next time a new browser session is opened and navigates to Shortcut Designer. In 14.0, when closing a tab or browser window in which Shortcut Designer is running, the user will be taken back to the sign in screen when navigating back to Shortcut Designer. (However, if you restart your previous browser session using hotkeys, your old session will still be open.) (D-10966, documented 9/12/2018)
  • Action Button Shortcut to Run Menu Not Alphabetical - On the Action Button Properties tab, the shortcuts listed in the Shortcut to Run drop-down menu were not listed alphabetically. Instead they were listed with organization shortcuts first, followed by account shortcuts. This made it difficult to find a specific shortcut in the list. This has been fixed in 14.0; the entire list of shortcuts (for organization and account) is now sorted alphabetically. (D-11023, documented 9/14/2018)
  • No Accounts Listed on IE11 - In the 13.2 version of Shortcut Designer, users with an Admin Role of "Shortcut Designer" or "Customer Administrator" were supposed to be able to see a list of user accounts that belong to groups to which they have access. However, if the admin user was using the Internet Explorer 11 browser, the list would appear blank. This has been fixed in Shortcut Designer 14.0. (D-11039, documented 9/17/2018)
  • Error / Bad State when Dropping Components on IE11 - When using Shortcut Designer 13.2 with Internet Explorer 11 you would get an error and get Shortcut Designer into a bad state when dragging and dropping HTML Design components onto the design area to create a shortcut. This has been fixed in 14.0. (D-11039, documented 9/17/2018)
  • Duplicated Components Revert to Original Component Properties - Components on HTML shortcuts that had been created by being duplicated from another component would revert to their original properties (when first duplicated) when the shortcut was opened in a 13.2 version of Shortcut Designer. For Action Button components, this would occur after the first duplication; for other shortcuts this would occur after the second or subsequent duplication. This has been fixed in 14.0. (D-11056, documented 10/3/2018)
  • Second Blank License Agreement Window - An intermittent issue was occurring in which users, upon clicking the Accept button for the license agreement, would be presented with a second window that was blank that also had to be "accepted". This has been fixed. (D-11078, documented 10/23/2018)
  • Shortcut Name Length Validation Not Working - If a shortcut name or alternative name is too long, Shortcut Designer would not display any warning or error message. Instead, nothing happens when you click save. This has been fixed in 14.0. Now when typing a shortcut name that exceeds 100 characters, a message of "Too long" will appear below the Shortcut Name field. (D-11074, D-11084 documented 10/25/2018)
  • Delete Option Cut Off of More Actions Menu - The More Actions menu was cut off at the bottom for shortcuts at the end of a long list. This meant that the Delete option was not visible. This has been fixed in 14.0 by adding padding to the bottom of the shortcut list. (D-11089, documented 10/29/2018)
  • No Vertical Scroll Bar on Organization Tree - Users with an Admin Role have a hamburger menu in the upper-left corner of Shortcut Designer where they access the tree of organizations to which their Admin Role has access. The organization tree area did not include any vertical scroll bar, so users with access to several organizations could get to a point where nodes on the bottom of the organization tree could no longer be expanded. This has been fixed in 14.0 with the addition of a vertical scroll bar.  (D-11088, documented 10/29/2018)
  • "How to Launch in SayIt?" Link Broken - The "How to Launch in SayIt?" link (near the top-right of the screen when editing an HTML Automation shortcut) was broken after the last release due to a restructuring of the Shortcut Designer Help. The link should go to the new URL http://support.nvoq.com/shortcut-designer-preview-shortcut. Instead it just went to the Shortcut Designer Home page, which no longer includes the information. This has been fixed in 14.0. (D-11094, documented 10/29/2018)
  • Add/Edit HTML Shortcut Accepts Longer Written Form Character Limit and Validates It - The Written Form of an HTML Automation shortcut (which is visible on the Source tab in Shortcut Designer when adding or editing an HTML shortcut) had a 100,000 character limit, but should have supported a maximum of 900,000 characters instead. In 14.0, Shortcut Designer will now accept up to 900,000 characters in the Written Form (Source tab).  If you try to save a shortcut with over 900,000 characters on the Source tab, Shortcut Designer will warn you with a message that your "Shortcut written form is too long." (D-11157, documented 1/8/2019)
  • Updating a Shortcut Does Not Update Alternative Name of Shortcuts - In 13.2, when you made changes to a shortcut, the changes only applied to the main shortcut name. If you ran the shortcut using an Alternative Name, the updates would not be included. This has been fixed in 14.0. Updates made to a shortcut will be propagated to the Alternative Name shortcuts as well. (D-11164, documented 1/10/2019)
  • Visible When Conditional Logic Settings Not Saved - In 13.2 when adding Visible When conditional logic to an item, settings are not always being saved correctly and the conditional logic is reverting back to a default setting, causing the logic not to work. The work-around is to go back into the shortcut and reconfirm the conditional logic for the broken items and save. This has been fixed in 14.0 (D-11176, documented 1/17/2019)

Audio/Microphone Guide

Changes in Audio/Microphone Guide
  • SpeechMike on Mac Page Removed - Previously SpeechMike microphones had to be specially configured in order to run properly on a Mac and a program called SpeechControl4Mac had to be installed. This is no longer the case. A firmware upgrade for SpeechMike devices updates them to be used on either PC or Mac, and SpeechControl4Mac is no longer supported by or available from Philips. Therefore, the SpeechMike on a Mac page in the Audio / Microphone Guide has been removed as it is no longer needed.  (D-11076, documented 11/2/2018)

SayIt Dictation Keyboard App

These changes may be released to the Google Play Store outside of a SayIt product release.
If you would like to test a version of the Dictation Keyboard app with the changes mentioned below, please contact nVoq Support.
  • New Sign In Button on Login Screen - A new Sign In Button on the log in screen is much larger and easier to access than the old link. (B-14361, documented 9/19/2018)
  • Dropping End of Dictation Audio - Changes have been made to fix the intermittent issue of  audio being dropped from some dictations. (D-11014, documented 9/19/2018)
  • Disabled Backspace While Dictating - The backspace button (visible on the screen during dictation) is now disabled and invisible while in recording mode (when the mic icon is green) to prevent accidental deletion of prior text. It regains functionality when not recording. (B-14361, documented 10/3/2018)
  • Gesture Typing - Gesture typing, which allows users to slide their fingers around keys to write out a complete word, has been added to the keyboard as an experimental feature. (B-14332, documented 10/17/2018)
  • Toggle from Numeric Keyboard to QWERTY Keyboard - When you selected the numeric keyboard (key on the bottom left), you could not navigate back to the alphabetic keyboard. The work-around was use the space bar (which would take you back to the QWERTY keyboard) or to close and re-open the app. There is now a key in the bottom left of the numeric keyboard that says "ABC" that you can tap to return to the QWERTY keyboard. (B-14588, documented 1/22/2018)

nVoq.API

We are in the process of reformatting our API documentation. As a result, new and updated web services are in a new location (linked below).
  • Create Account and Get Organization Plans APIs Updated to New Format -As part of our effort to improve the API documentation, the formats for Get Organization Plans and Create Accounts (new) have been converted to our new, simpler format.  (B-14440, documented 9/18/2018)
  • Login Service API Not Returning Organization Info for Shortcut Designer - The login service API was not returning organization information for a user with a Shortcut Designer Admin Role that had no client access. This has been fixed in 14.0. The login webservice now returns the user's organization information if the org is set to true). (D-11042, documented 9/18/2018)
    • No documentation change.
  • Removed Deprecated organizationStructure Web Service / Replaced with REST Web Service -  The SCVmcServices/organizationStructure web service, deprecated in the last release, allows fetching of a tenants organization structure. This web service has been removed and has been replaced by /SCVmcServices/rest/organizations, which provides the same functionality. (B-14306, documented 9/19/2018)
  • New API for Username Recovery -This API, which sends an email to the user that includes their username(s) on the system when they provide the email address associated with their account, has been updated to a restful service. (B-14443, documented 10/3/2018)
  • Shortcuts APIs Updated to New Format - As part of our effort to improve the API documentation, the APIs for Shortcuts, Account Shortcuts, and Organization Shortcuts have been converted to our new, simpler format.  (B-14448, documented 10/4/2018)
  • New APIs for Password Reset - Four new APIs have been created in a rest format for password reset activities: one sends a password recovery email when a username is supplied, another retrieves a list of password reset tokens, a third retrieves information about a single password token, and then there is an API to change the password with a valid token.  Note that you currently need to be a System Administrator to access the /rest/recovery/tokens endpoint. System-level "Customer Administrators" shouldsee the outstanding tokens for the tenants to which they have access. This will be addressed in another item (B-14469). (B-14444, documented 10/8/2018)
  • New API Retrieves Transaction Information for a Single Transaction - A new restful API retrieves information for one specific transaction or UUID. This API is not available for system-leveladministrators. (B-14305, documented 10/8/2018)
  • Removed Deprecated Job ID Retrieval Web Service  / Replaced with REST Web Service -The SCVmcServices/nVoqIdRetrieval web service that was deprecated in the last release has been removed. This web service existed to allow getting the Review and Correct ID for a given UUID or External ID. It has been replaced by a new REST transactions web service which provides this same functionality with the addition of the Review and Correct ID number as an attribute to the Transactions web service. Now when you send an incorrect transaction UUID, you get an "Invalid ID" message, along with the incorrect UUID. Administrators with a "Shortcut Designer" role can no longer access /rest/transactions. This API is not available for system-level administrators. (Note: Administrators with a "Transcriber" or "Read Only" role cannot access /rest/transactions as of this writing. See D-11070) (B-14305, documented 10/8/2018)
  • Removed Deprecated Enable/Disable Account Service / Replaced with REST Web Services -  The SCVmcServices/changeUserEnabledweb service, deprecated in the last release, allows the changing of the Enabled setting for a user account. The new REST accounts web services can provide this same functionality with the addition of an Enabled sub-resource. (B-14307, documented 10/11/2018) Find a new web services in the new API format at https://test.nvoq.com/apidoc/administration#operation/AccountsPropertiesByUsernameGet

  • Account and Organization Verification on SCVmcServices RESTful Services - The SCVmcServicesRESTful services have been refactored to perform Account and Organization verification on username or organization path parameters. (B-14483, documented 10/18/2018)
  • New APIs for Updating Substituted Text - New APIs allow organization administrators with a Customer Administrator role, and non-admin users with only client access to update substituted text for a particular transaction or dictation. Client users can also retrieve a list of their transactions as well as retrieve and update substituted text for their dictation transactions. (B-14569, documented 12/5/2018)
  • Modifying Substituted Text Also Updates Accuracy Score - When a user modifies substituted text in a dictation transcript (see item B-14569 above), the accuracy score of the dictation is also updated and appears in the Item Detail on the Review & Correct page in the Administrator console. (B-14609, documented 12/11/2018)
  • Removed "Transcriber" Admin Role from Create Accounts API - The option to create an Admin Role of "Transcriber" has been removed from the Create Accounts API. This role was intended for transcriptionists, but was not being used. Admins with this role were able to listen to audio and make corrections to transcripts on the Review & Correct page, but could not make any other changes. (B-14620, documented 12/19/2018)
  • SSO Users with Reset Password on Initial Sign On Unable to Log in to Custom Client - In 13.2, users in a division organization with the Reset on Initial Sign On property enabled were unable to log in to a custom client using an API key. The work-around was to disable the "Reset on initial sign in" setting. This has been fixed in 14.0. (D-11049, documented 12/20/2018)
