How to Say Dates & Times
- When dictating dates:
- You can use ordinal numbers for dates (e.g. "October first twenty fifteen", "December tenth two thousand sixteen", "March fifteenth nineteen seventy three") for Month name-Day-Year format.
- Dictate the full year for best accuracy (e.g. "two thousand twenty four").
- Dictating a two-digit year format (e.g. "twenty twenty four") is supported, but may have variability.
- Dictating an abbreviated year format (e.g. "nineteen") is NOT RECOMMENDED and may cause conflicts with other number-related rules. For example, "eleven to/two nineteen" could be misinterpreted as "11-19" or "11/2/19" instead of the intended year.
- When dictating time, say AM and PM.
