Voice for iOS: Accessibility

Prev Next

Voice for iOS now works more smoothly with Apple’s VoiceOver feature to read labels and buttons, making it easier for clinicians who use screen readers to navigate these features and interact with them confidently.

VoiceOver pronounces "nVoq" incorrectly when tapping on the app icon, when the app opens, and everywhere outside of the app itself.
This cannot be corrected without altering the spelling of the app name under the icon. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The following keys have verbalized functionality when VoiceOver is enabled on your device:

Dictation

  • Tap the Dictation button on the keyboard: VoiceOver says "Dictate using nVoq, button. Opens the nVoq Voice app." and then when the dictation screen is opens recording starts automatically.
  • Double-tap the dictation button while recording is in progress to stop recording, VoiceOver says, "Dictation completed."
Note: While you’re recording, VoiceOver won’t read the dictation button name. This avoids the button label being captured by the microphone and inserted into your dictation.
  • Tap into the dictation text area, VoiceOver reads your transcript.
