Article Summary

16.1 Dictation, SayIt, SayIt Administrator, nVoq.Administrator, and APIs Release; 16.1.01 nVoq.Voice Release
May 2021

nVoq Dictation

The updates in this section impact all dictation clients, including SayIt, nVoq.Voice, and nVoq.Mobile Voice as well as ISV partner clients using nVoq dictation.
  • Improvements to STABLETEXT (Direct Text) - STABLETEXT (a.k.a. "Direct Text" in SayIt) was returning erroneous transcripts that included non-words due to the way final dictation results were accumulated. Code was updated to correct this issue, improving STABLETEXT (Direct Text) transcripts in 16.1. (D-12389, 3/1/2021)
  • Fix for STABLETEXT (Direct Text) Inability to Transcribe Multiple Periods - When using STABLETEXT (a.k.a. "Direct Text" in SayIt) the dictation engine would not transcribe multiple periods in a row even if they were spoken in the dictation. For example, dictating "this is a test period period period" would return the transcript, "This is a test." The rules for this have been improved so that this should work now. (TIP: You can also dictate the word "ellipsis" to get "...")  (D-12264, 3/25/2021)
  • Fix for Excessive Sentence Modeling/Vocabulary Causing Sluggish Dictation - A user's dictation profile can become corrupted while a dictation server is processing sentence model and/or vocabulary for the user that exceeds the size limit for the profile (1MB). This results in significant delays in returning a dictation transcript. In 16.1, after sentence modeling and/or vocabulary jobs for a user profile that exceed the limit are processed, the profile is reset and the user is able to record dictation with the transcript returning without the delay. The profile will exclude the new sentence modeling or vocabulary that pushed it over the 1MB limit. (D-12524, 4/23/2021)
  • ReDS Dictation Servers Take Longer to Use New/Updated Vocabulary, Substitutions, Sentence Models - A ReDS dictation server may take up to 15 minutes (after an add/edit job has completed on the profile) to apply newly added vocabulary, substitutions, or sentence modeling when processing dictations. (D-12559, 4/26/2021)

SayIt and AgentAssist

  • HTTP Strict-Transport-Security - All nVoq product URLs support the HTTP Strict-Transport-Security (HSTS) and can only be accessed using HTTPS instead of HTTP. This response header informs the browser that it should never load a site using HTTP and should automatically convert all attempts to access the site to HTTPS requests instead. For example, http://test.nvoq.com/sayit automatically redirects to https://test.nvoq.com/sayit. There is no change in user experience. (B-16065, 2/24/2021)
  • Support Removed for Windows 7 - nVoq is no longer supporting the Windows 7 operating system. Windows 10 is required to install/run SayIt. (B-16072, 3/4/2021)
  • SayIt Now Recording Successfully on M1 Mac - SayIt was unable to record audio with USB or hand-held microphones on Macs with an M1 chip. On these computers SayIt asks for microphone access before every dictation, and the dictation fails after a few seconds even when you grant access due to no audio is being received. The work-around was to use the nVoq Wireless Microphone to record dictation, however adjusting one setting in the Mac setup process corrects this issue. When configuring the export for the script to launch SayIt, you must modify the Code Sign setting to "run locally". Moreover, you must at least click on this option (or re-select it) even if it is selected by default, which is likely due to a display bug on the Mac. This new configuration will work fine for non-M1 Macs as well. This fix is a change to documentation only, no product code change was involved. The updated instructions for installing SayIt on Mac are at https://support.nvoq.com/sayit-on-a-mac. (D-12426, 4/23/2021)

nVoq.Voice 16.1.01

This version appears on the About screen of nVoq.Voice and in nVoq.Administrator as 16.1.1
  • HTTP Strict-Transport-Security - All nVoq product URLs support the HTTP Strict-Transport-Security (HSTS) and can only be accessed using HTTPS instead of HTTP. This response header informs the browser that it should never load a site using HTTP and should automatically convert all attempts to access the site to HTTPS requests instead. For example, http://test.nvoq.com/voice automatically redirects to https://test.nvoq.com/voice. There is no change in user experience. (B-16065, 2/24/2021)
  • Press-and-Hold to Record No Longer Supported - While the documented method for recording dictation in nVoq.Voice is to press-and-release the dictation button or hotkey to record and then press-and-release again to stop recording, in previous versions of nVoq.Voice you could alternatively press-and-hold the dictation button or hotkey to record dictation and then let go of the button to stop recording. This functionality has been removed from nVoq.Voice. Now if you press-and-hold the dictation button, Voice will only start recording when you release the button. The button will remain in record mode (orange) until you press it again to stop recording. (B-16046, 3/19/2021; B-16080, 4/7/2021)
  • Run Shortcuts in nVoq.Voice from the iOS and Android Wireless Mics - The ability to activate shortcuts from the nVoq Wireless Microphones on a computer running nVoq.Voice has been added in the 16.1 release of both iOS and Android Wireless Microphone, and work was also done in nVoq.Voice to accomplish that. nVoq.Voice now registers the type of shortcuts it can run so that when you tap the All Shortcuts button in the Wireless Mic, shortcuts that cannot be run in Voice are filtered out from the shortcut menu. (B-16074, 4/28/2021)

Bug Fixes in nVoq.Voice

  • Shortcuts Window Covers the Dictation Speech Bubble - In the 16.0 release of nVoq.Voice, the dictation speech bubble displays underneath the shortcuts menu if the menu is placed near the top of the dictation button. This has been fixed in 16.1.01. With every new dictation, the transcript bubble will display on top of the shortcuts menu if they're both in the same area. (D-12420, 3/3/2021)
  • Topic Change in nVoq.Voice Not Honored by Wireless Microphone - If the dictation topic was changed in nVoq.Voice to something other than the one set for the group, the iOS and Android Wireless Microphone apps would not honor that setting and would instead continue to process dictations using the topic set for the group. This may result in poor dictation accuracy. This has been fixed in both the Android and iOS Wireless Microphone apps. Now the topic selected in nVoq.Voice is used to process dictations recorded with the Wireless Microphone. This change requires the deployment/use of the 16.1.00 version of the Wireless Microphone apps. (D-12476, 3/19/2021)
  • Unable to Close Notification Messages - When a red error message or green success message appears at the top of the screen, it can be impossible to close the message by clicking on the X on the right side of the message. Doing so instead would often make the whole window full screen. As a work-around you could wait for the The patient message to close automatically after five seconds. This has been fixed; clicking the X in the notification message will now close the message. (D-12446, 3/30/2021)
  • Inactive Sign In with Microsoft Button After Unsuccessful Login Attempt on Microsoft SSO Screen - If you click the Sign in with Microsoft button on the initial screen of nVoq.Voice and enter (or select) an account on the Microsoft Sign In screen that does not have SSO access to nVoq.Voice on the selected System, you would get an error message letting you know that the username or password was incorrect as expected, but the Sign in with Microsoft button on the initial Voice screen would no longer work so you could not get back to the Microsoft Sign In screen to enter or select a different account. The work-around was to close the nVoq.Voice app and restart it, which would make the Sign in with Microsoft button active again. This has been fixed in version 16.1.01. Now the Sign in with Microsoft button works again in this situation without having to restart the app, allowing you to sign in to Microsoft SSO with a different account. (D-12429, 3/31/2021)
  • Difficult to Read Messages on Settings Screen for SSO Accounts - If an Single Sign On user changed multiple settings on the Settings screen in quick succession, the green notification success message at the top of the screen would have such light text that it just looked like a green bar with no words. This only occurred for users signed in through Microsoft Azure SSO accounts, and has now been fixed. (D-12482, 4/1/2021)
  • Settings Screen Microphone and Topic Menus Not Working for SSO Accounts - The Microphone and Topic drop-down menus on the Settings screen would sometimes not open for users logged in with a Microsoft Azure Single Sign On account. The work-around was to close the Settings screen and re-open it, and then the menus would work properly. This issue only occurred for users logged in with an SSO account and has been fixed. (D-12444, 4/1/2021)
  • SSO Sign Out Confusing - When a Microsoft Single Sign On (SSO) user signs out of nVoq.Voice, the Voice sign in screen appears in front of the Microsoft screen where the user must sign out of the SSO account. This is confusing, as users may not realize that they have to sign out of the Microsoft account as well and may not look for the Microsoft screen. To make this more obvious the Microsoft screen now appears in front of the Voice sign in screen upon signing out of Voice. After the user selects the Microsoft account from which they want to sign out, they can close that window and the Voice sign in screen that was underneath will appear. (D-12508, 4/1/2021)
  • Problems After Changing Password in nVoq.Admin While Logged In to nVoq.Voice - In the previous release, if you change your password in nVoq.Administrator while you are logged into nVoq.Voice, nVoq.Voice would not notify you that you need to log in again to Voice with the new password. Instead, Voice would just stop working. At that point if you closed Voice and re-launched it, Voice would attempt to auto-sign in with the old password and could lock your account if the maximum password failure attempts was reached. This has been fixed. Now, if you change your password in nVoq.Administrator while you are logged in to nVoq.Voice, upon the next attempt to do anything in nVoq.Voice,  like dictate, use a shortcut, go to the settings page, upload a log (which may occur automatically if logging is enabled for the user), etc., Voice will automatically display the sign in screen. The sign in screen will show an error message stating, "Invalid username and/or password", which will disappear after four (4) seconds. You can then sign in to Voice using your new password. (D-12465, D-12433, 4/9/2021)
  • First Shortcut Not Pasting - The very first shortcut that is run after launching the popup shortcut menu would not paste text, and it would appear to the user that nothing happened even though the shortcut looked like it worked when reviewing usage on the Review & Correct page in the admin console. The work-around was to try again, and the second attempt (and subsequent attempts) worked as expected. This has been fixed, and shortcuts now paste the first time after the popup menu is opened. (D-12414, 4/12/2021)
  • Hotkey Registration Removed by Clicking into Hotkey Field But Not Changing Hotkey - In the previous release, if you opened the nVoq.Voice Settings and clicked into the Dictation Hotkey field but then did not change the hotkey, you could no longer start a dictation using a hotkey. The same thing would occur for popup shortcuts: if you clicked into the Popup Shortcut Hotkey field but then did not change that hotkey; you could no longer open the shortcut menu using a hotkey. Clicking into the hotkey field was de-registering the hotkey that had been set. The Settings screen still showed the hotkey set to whatever it had been previously, but in reality no hotkey was set. This has been fixed. (D-12445, 4/13/2021)
  • Duplicate Transcript from nVoq.Voice / Wireless Microphone - When dictating with the nVoq Wireless Microphone (Android or iOS) with nVoq.Voice, if you start the recording by tapping the dictation button in the Wireless Microphone but then try to end the recording by tapping the F2 key or dictation button in Voice, the recording would not stop. Then if you tapped the dictation button in the Wireless Microphone to end the recording, the dictation transcript would be pasted twice. This has been fixed, and you can now successfully end a dictation that was started in the Wireless Mic by tapping the F2 key or dictation button in Voice and a single transcript will paste as soon as the dictation is done processing. When a recording is ended this way while using the Android app, the dictation button in the app still looks like it is still in record mode until the dictation is done processing. When a recording is ended this way while using the iOS app, the dictation button in the app still looks like it is in record mode until you manually tap on the button again. With the 16.1.00 release of the iOS Wireless Microphone app (to be deployed in May 2021), the dictation button on the app will automatically go back to non-record mode once the dictation is done processing. (D-12472, 4/13/2021)
  • Hotkey Registration Removed After Attempt to Change Hotkey While Not Connected to Network - If you are unable to connect to the Internet while attempting to change the dictation or popup shortcut hotkey, you will see a message stating "Could not save property" (as expected) but the Settings screen would still display the new property for the hotkey that you tried to change, and neither the old hotkey or the new one would work. Handling of hotkeys is improved in 16.1. If you attempt to change a hotkey when you are not connected to a network, the hotkey will revert back to the previous value and still work. (D-12438, 4/14/2021)
  • Azure Token Validation Blocking Legitimate SSO Voice Users from Logging In - nVoq's Single Sign On (SSO) token authorization processing was checking for a specific email domain to be part of a username. This was problematic as some of the users under one tenant who should have legitimately been able to log in with a Microsoft Azure SSO account had a different email domain and were therefore unable to do so. This requirement was unnecessary as we have other security measures in place to validate a user. This has been corrected. We now disregard the user's email domain when validating SSO credentials. (D-12542, 4/21/2021)
  • Dictation Hangs in Record Mode if Network Connection Dropped - If you are dictating in nVoq.Voice with the nVoq Wireless Microphone during a network outage, the dictation speech bubble stayed on screen with the dictation button in record mode even though the dictation was interrupted. The only way to fix it was to close Voice and re-launch it. A seven second timeout was added which will close the dictation in this scenario. After seven seconds, the speech bubble will disappear and the dictation button will go back to non-record mode. If network connection has been restored, you can record another dictation without having to restart Voice. (D-12410, 4/22/2021)

SayIt Administrator

  • Enable Logging for nVoq.Voice - Logging for nVoq.Voice can now be enabled on the Logging page in nVoq.Administrator or SayIt Administrator. When this happens, the logging level is increased and client logs are uploaded automatically to the admin console when you exit or sign out of nVoq.Voice. This change occurred with the 16.1 release of nVoq.Voice in February 2021. (B-15712, 2/15/2021)
  • New Home Healthcare and Hospice Topic - A new topic, Home Healthcare and Hospice, has been added to the Dictation Topic menu on the Add/Edit Organization page for a group level organization. A user can also select this topic on the Topic menu on nVoq.Voice and nVoq.Mobile Voice, and can now be configured for a group on the Organizations page. (B-15944, 1/14/2021; B-15056, 2/18/2021)
For example, http://test.nvoq.com/sayitadmin automatically redirects to https://test.nvoq.com/sayitadmin. There is no change in user experience. (B-16065, 2/24/2021)
  • 1-Year Subscription Retired - The 1-Year subscription plan has been retired. Any accounts with that plan will be migrated to the Shortcuts and Dictation Monthly Recurring plan upon deployment of 16.1 on the system. The 1-Year plan has been removed from the Tenants page (system level) and from the Accounts page. As part of this change the Subscription Management Detail report will also reflect the new subscription plans. The Renewal Date column, which displayed the date that a yearly subscription would automatically renew, still appears on this report in SayIt Administrator. A date that a yearly account would have renewed is still listed in this column. This column has been removed from the report in nVoq.Administrator. (B-15990, 3/1/2021)
  • Removal of Third-Party Billing System - nVoq organizations and accounts are no longer integrated with a third-party billing system. At the system level, the Zuora Subscriptions setting and Sold To information has been removed. At the tenant level, the Billing page has been removed. Organization properties createSubscriptions and customerAccountId, and account properties Account_ID, Subscription_ID, renewal_date, and customerAccountId will be deleted by post migration script when 16.1 is deployed. The Accuracy Optimization Service and Non Billable settings on the Accounts page are not impacted. (B-15840, 3/1/2021)
  • Shortcuts and Dictation Usage Subscription Retired - The Shortcuts and Dictation Usage subscription plan has been retired. Any accounts with that plan will be migrated to the Shortcuts Usage monthly recurring plan upon deployment of 16.1 on the system. After deployment, users that were migrated from the Shortcuts and Dictation Usage plan to the Shortcuts Usage plan will no longer be able to use dictation. The Shortcuts and Dictation Usage plan has been removed from the Tenants page (system level) and from the Accounts page. As part of this change the Detail Subscription Management report will also reflect the new subscription plan. (B-15991, 3/1/2021)
  • Updated Redirect Warning - The message that appears when you go to the SayIt Administrator URL will now warn that SayIt Administrator will be discontinued with the 16.2 release and a stronger suggestion to start using nVoq.Administrator instead.  (B-16125, 4/19/2021)

Bug Fixes in SayIt Administrator

  • Word Finder Search in Sentence Model Documents is Case Sensitive - The Search on the nVoq.Administrator Word Finder page was fixed to no longer be case sensitive for words or phrases in sentence model documents. The nVoq.Administrator query that looks for the search string was updated, and since the same query is used on SayIt Administrator's Word Finder page, it is fixed here too. (D-12359, 1/14/2021)
  • Log Files for nVoq.Voice Include "SayIt" in Filename - When logs are sent to SayIt Administrator from the nVoq.Voice client, the file that is uploaded to the admin console included "sayit" in the file name (e.g. [email protected]_1598539565901_sayit_logs.zip) which could be confusing because administrators might think that they were logs from the SayIt client. Log filenames for nVoq.Voice have been updated to exclude "sayit" and now just end in "logs.zip" (e.g. [email protected]:1611862385582:logs.zip). Filenames for log files collected prior to the 16.1 release still end with sayit_logs.zip whether they are SayIt or nVoq.Voice. (D-12193, 1/29/2021)

Features Removed from SayIt Administrator

nVoq.Administrator

  • New Home Healthcare and Hospice Topic - A new topic, Home Healthcare and Hospice, has been added to the Dictation Topic menu on the Add/Edit Organization page for a group level organization. A user can also select this topic on the Topic menu on nVoq.Voice and nVoq.Mobile Voice, and can now be configured for a group on the Organizations page. (B-15944, 1/14/2021; B-15056, 2/18/2021)
  • New Display Column Menu & Columns Available on Review & Correct List View - A new Display Columns menu on the Review & Correct page allows you to view additional columns on the page to see information for multiple dictations at once in the list view. The newly available columns include: Client Product, Client Vendor, Client Version, Microphone, Queue Depth, Topic, Total Time, and Upload Delay, each of which apply to dictation transactions only. The information in the new columns is also available on the Timeline for dictation events, but by including it in the list view you can compare information between multiple dictations. For example, you can compare Upload Delay for multiple dictations like you could in SayIt Administrator on the System Health report. The new Display Column menu also allows you to hide columns in the list view so that you can customize all of the information you see in the list view. The column selection is saved as an account property so that users do not have to reselect their columns after logging out and logging back in. The Display Column menu also includes a reset button so it's easy to reset the list view back to only displaying the default columns. (B-15834, 1/18/2021; B-15913, 1/27/2021)
  • Dictation Client Information Added to Review & Correct - Dictation client information (including the name of the client, the client vendor, and the client version) have been added to the Review & Correct Timeline tab for dictations so you can see which client was used for each dictation. This information is also available in the Review & Correct list view using the new Display Column menu (see above). nVoq dictation client information displays in these fields for nVoq.Voice and nVoq.Mobile Voice. If SayIt was used for the dictation, the fields are blank. These fields can also be populated for partner clients by using our APIs. (B-15913, 1/27/2021)
  • Apostrophes in nVoq Usernames Now Supported - Apostrophes are now supported in the username field when creating or editing accounts so that single sign on usernames (e.g. for Microsoft Azure) can work with nVoq products. Usernames can include ! @ $ % ^ ( ) - _ = [ ] . , ~ ` characters. Usernames cannot include " * / : < > ? | { } & ; \ # + space, control, or non-ASCII characters. (B-15932, 1/28/2021)
For example, http://test.nvoq.com/admin automatically redirects to https://test.nvoq.com/admin. There is no change in user experience. (B-16065, 2/24/2021)
  • Session Timeout Notification Automatically Dismissed - When your nVoq.Administrator session times out, you are automatically redirected to the Sign in screen and a popup notification message displays in the upper-right corner of the screen letting you know the session timed out. In the previous releases, this popup notification would remain on the screen until you dismissed it manually. Now the notification is automatically dismissed when you click anywhere on sign in screen, so you no longer need to manually dismiss it. (B-16075, 3/1/2021)
As part of this change, the Detail Subscription Management report will also reflect the new subscription plans, and the Renewal Date column, which displayed the date that a yearly subscription would automatically renew, has also been removed.
  • New Maximum Date Range for Reports - In order to keep report queries from overloading the system, the maximum date range that can be selected on a report is now set at 3 years. The calendar widget will show a line crossing through end dates that go beyond this range after the selected start date. (B-16041, 3/9/2021)
  • Two-Factor Authentication for nVoq.Administrator -  A new toggle on the Add/Edit/Upload Accounts page labeled "Require Administrator two-factor authorization" enables two-factor authentication for logging in to nVoq.Administrator. This setting is off by default, and can only be enabled for accounts that have an Admin Role. If the Admin Role for the account is removed, this setting is automatically disabled. Accounts that also have Client Access will NOT be required to use two-factor authentication to log in to the dictation/shortcut client. At this time this setting only works with Cisco's Duo multi-factor authentication. (B-16053, 3/9/2021)
  • Scroll Location in Organization Remembered - Your scroll location in the organization menu is now remembered as you navigate to different pages in nVoq.Administrator. Additionally, the organization that you selected in the menu will now stay opened in the menu after session timeout or sign out (as long as you sign back in on the same browser tab). (D-12467, 3/31/2021)
  • Speed Improvements for Total Usage Reports -  In the 16.0 version of nVoq.Administrator the Total Usage Summary and Total Usage Detail reports took several minutes to return data for even a very short time range. This has been improved in 16.1, and in our testing these reports are now faster in nVoq.Administrator than they are in SayIt Administrator. Of course as with all reports, the more data you are requesting (due to longer date range and/or higher organization level) the longer it will take to return the data. (D-12380, 4/5/2021)
  • Speed Improvements for Dictation Usage Reports -  The  16.0 version of nVoq.Administrator the Dictation Usage reports returned data much slower than the same reports run in SayIt Administrator. The speed of these reports has been improved in nVoq.Administrator for 16.1 so that data is returned faster than in SayIt Administrator. (D-12388, 4/14/2021)
  • Speed Improvements for Account Monitor Shortcuts Report - The 16.0 version of the Account Monitor Shortcuts report was reported to take over a minute to display data that the same report in SayIt Administrator took only seconds. This report in the 16.1 version of nVoq.Administrator is now much faster, and is now equal to SayIt Administrator performance. (D-12442, 4/14/2021)
  • Speed Improvements for Active Account Reports - The 16.0 version of the Active Account Detail report was reported to take over 11 minutes to display data that the same report in SayIt Administrator took seconds to display, and the Active Account Summary report took over 6 minutes to display data that the same report in SayIt Administrator displayed in seconds. In the16.1 version of nVoq.Administrator these reports are now faster than in SayIt Administrator. (D-12440, 4/14/2021)
  • Records Cleanup Improvements - Transactional data like dictation and voice shortcut transactions were already deleted after one year, and now nVoq will be deleting popup shortcut, keyword spotting, and microphone setup transactions after a year too. Additionally, word marker data will be deleted after 60 days. (B-16101, 4/15/2021)
  • Updated Date Range Picker - The date range picker on all pages on which a date range can be selected (Review & Correct, Create Sentence Model from Corrected Text, all reports) has been improved to now include drop-down menus for the month and year, making it easier to select dates in the past. This upgrade also moves the "Last 30 Days"option higher up in the list on the left side of the calendars, and fixes an issue in which the start and end date and time could become the same/hours. (D-12519, 4/19/2021)
  • Speed Improvements for Shortcut Usage Custom Group Report -  In the 16.0 version of nVoq.Administrator the Shortcut Usage Custom Group report took much longer to display information than the same report SayIt Administrator. This has been improved in 16.1, and in our testing these reports are more than twice as fast in nVoq.Administrator than they are in SayIt Administrator. There is an issue with this report in SayIt Administrator in which data for certain users is displayed incorrectly due to the SayIt Administrator report not grouping information correctly. This report will not be fixed in SayIt Administrator. Please use the report in nVoq.Administrator for correct data.  (D-12485, 4/19/2021)
  • Speed Improvements for Shortcut Usage Reports - The 16.0 version of the Shortcut Usage Summary reports was taking much longer to display data than the same report in SayIt Administrator. In the16.1 version of nVoq.Administrator this report is now faster than in SayIt Administrator, returning data in seconds vs. minutes. Though there is no Shortcut Usage Detail report in SayIt Administrator, work was also done to improve the speed of that report as well and it is now extremely fast. (D-12441, 4/19/2021)
  • Speed Improvements for Dictation Usage Custom Group Report - The 16.0 version of the Dictation Usage Custom Group report was taking much longer to display data than the same report in SayIt Administrator. In the16.1 version of nVoq.Administrator this report is now faster than in SayIt Administrator. (D-12483, 4/20/2021)
  • Speed Improvements for Subscription Management Reports - The 16.0 version of the Subscription Management reports were taking much longer to display data than the same reports in SayIt Administrator. In the16.1 version of nVoq.Administrator both the Subscription Management Summary report and the Subscription Management Detail report are now faster than in SayIt Administrator. (D-12486, 4/22/2021)

Bug Fixes in nVoq.Administrator

  • Shortcut List Taking Long Time to Populate - For customers with a long list of shortcuts in many organizations it could sometimes take 30 seconds or more for the shortcuts list to display, making it difficult for users trying to edit shortcuts at higher levels in the organization structure. The query to retrieve shortcuts was optimized to improve performance. (D-12258, 1/13/2021)
  • Server Information Removed from Dictation Timeline - The Server information on the Detail Review & Correct page dictation Timeline tab, which shows which dictation server was used for a dictation, has been removed. It is now only displayed for system-level administrators (including system-level Customer Administrators). (D-12204, 1/14/2021)
  • Strange Results When Searching for Space in Word Finder - If you enter one or more space characters (space bar) into the Search field on the Word Finder page and nothing else, the results that are displayed don't make sense. For example, some items in the results don't include a space. nVoq.Administrator no longer allows a search on space. The search request is not submitted to the server when one or more space characters is entered in the Search field if that is all that is entered. You can include space characters within a phrase in a search on this page. (D-12355, 1/14/2021)
  • Word Finder Search in Sentence Model Documents is Case Sensitive - The Search on the Word Finder page was found to be case sensitive for words or phrases in sentence model documents. For example, if you search for the word “sayit” but the word appeared in a sentence model as "SayIt" the Word Finder search would not return it as a match. The query that looks for the search string was updated to be case insensitive. Since the same query is used on SayIt Administrator's Word Finder page, it is fixed there as well. (D-12359, 1/14/2021)
  • Fix for Display Issue in Review & Correct for Vocabulary with Accents or Tildes - Words with an accent mark or tilde over a letter were appearing oddly on the Detail Review & Correct page. For example, the word café would display as Café. The word would display correctly in the client, this was only an issue on the Review & Correct page. It has been fixed in 16.1. (D-12345, 1/15/2021)
  • Blank Page Appears When Going to Page - If a system administrator selects a tenant and quickly goes to the Accounts page, sometimes the page does not load. This can occur when a tenant has a large number of organizations and the organization menu has not finished loading before navigating to a page, resulting in a null in the webservice call. A spinner was added to prevent users from navigating to a page until the Organization menu is populated. (D-12323, 1/19/2021)
  • Organization Shortcut Copied to Client Account Has Incorrect Actions Menu Options - If a client-only user makes a copy of an organization shortcut, the newly created account shortcut still has the menu items in the Actions menu that applied to the organization shortcut (View and Copy) instead of the options they should have with the newly created account shortcut (Edit Shortcut, Copy, Delete). The work-around was to refresh the page or to open the shortcut to edit it. This has been fixed in 16.1 and the correct Actions menu options will now appear immediately in the menu after the shortcut has been copied to the account. (D-12318, 1/20/2021)
  • More! Fixes for Scrolling Issues -  Scrolling issues were partially fixed in the 16.0.1 patch release, but not completely. Any page that has a list view did not "remember" your location in the list after viewing details for an item or navigating away from the list and then going back to the list view. Instead the list view automatically went to the top of the page. Another issue was that after deleting an item from a list, the scroll would jump around and then go to the bottom of the page and not allow you to scroll up. Additionally, longer lists of 60 or more items had an issue in which you could never get to the bottom of the list. There were also issues in which after scrolling to the bottom of the list of accounts on the Accounts page you could not scroll back to the top if the organization level was changed. Scrolling has been improved again in 16.1. Now, scrolling happens regardless of the length of the list and scrolling location is remembered after deleting an item or viewing details for an item, and you can now scroll back to the top of the list on the Accounts page even after the organization level is changed. (D-12327, 1/21/2021; D-12328, 1/22/2021; D-12353, 1/25/2021; D-12391, 2/5/2021)
  • Fix for Uploaded Substitutions Marked as Disabled - When you upload substitutions using the CSV template file, you should be able to leave the Enabled column blank or enter "True" or "Yes" to add the substitution as an active one that can be used. However, this was not working as designed in previous releases. If you left the column blank or entered "yes" in that column, the substitution would be disabled once it was uploaded. This has been fixed in 16.1. The file parser is now handling the Enabled column correctly, allowing a blank or "Yes" in addition to "True" to make the substitution enabled/active. (D-12320, 1/22/2021)
  • Dates Sorted in Wrong Order When Spanning Multiple Years - When viewing items for a date range that includes multiple years on the Review & Correct page (e.g. 12/20/2020 - 01/05/2021), items on the page would be listed in the wrong order when sorted by date (e.g. the Submit Time column on the Review & Correct page). This could also occur on other pages with dates in the item list view, like the Logging page (the Log Collection Expires date and Last Log Captured date columns) and the Organizations page (the Creation Date column). This has been fixed; dates are now listed in the correct order when sorted by date. (D-12383, 1/26/2021)
  • nVoq Username with Special Symbols Cause Problems with Accounts -  In nVoq.Administrator you are allowed to create usernames that include the percent symbol (%), but once created you could not view, modify, or delete the account. Work was done to allow nVoq usernames to include any symbol that can be part of an email address, including percent (%), dollar sign ($), carat (^), parenthesis (()), hyphen (-), underscore (_),  equal sign (=), square brackets ([]), period (.), comma (,), tilde (~), and back quote (`). Usernames that include these symbols can be viewed, modified, and deleted as usual. Curly brackets or braces ({}) are currently not allowed in usernames, even though they are allowed according to email address specifications. Additional work is being done to allow additional characters like these in an nVoq username. (D-12336, 1/26/2021)
  • Account Shortcuts Listed Twice on New Folder Page - If a client-only user creates a new account folder on the Shortcuts page without enabling the Show Organization Shortcuts toggle first, the list view of shortcuts on the New Folder page displays each account shortcut twice. This has been fixed. Now only one instance of account shortcuts appears in the shortcut list on the New Folder page regardless of the Show Organization Shortcuts toggle setting. (D-12326, 1/27/2021)
  • Log Files for nVoq.Voice Include "SayIt" in Filename - When logs are sent to nVoq.Administrator from the nVoq.Voice client, the file that is uploaded to the admin console included "sayit" in the file name (e.g. Filenames for log files collected prior to the 16.1 release of nVoq.Administrator still end with sayit_logs.zip whether they are SayIt or nVoq.Voice. (D-12193, 1/29/2021)
  • Non-Functioning Double Scroll Bar on Subscription Management Detail Report in Firefox - In the Firefox browser there is an inner scroll bar on the Subscription Management Detail report which does not scroll through data. This was improved in 16.1. Now there is only one vertical scroll bar unless the zoom level of the browser window is increased beyond a certain level (around 200% or so), at which point the inner scroll bar appears and scrolling stops working. As a work-around, reduce the zoom level on the Firefox browser window. (D-12316, 2/5/2021)
  • "Include" Filter Item Order Inconsistent on Subscription Management Reports - The order of the Include filters (All users, Billable users, Non-billable users, Trial users) was inconsistent between the Subscription Management Summary report and the Subscription Management Detail report. This has been fixed. The items are now listed in alphabetical order on both reports. (D-12342, 2/9/2021)
  • No Progress Indicator When Changing Enabled Status of Shortcuts - When the Enabled status of a large list of shortcuts was changed simultaneously, there was no indicator on the screen that work was in progress. This could be confusing since you can't tell if the work was being done or not. This has been fixed in 16.1. Now you will see the ghosting image of the list view, indicating that work is in progress. (D-12343, 2/11/2021)
  • Unable to Open/Edit Older Themes - On the Themes page in nVoq.Administrator three files are created from the one logo file that is uploaded when creating a new theme: a large logo file, a small logo file, and an ICO file. In the past an ICO file was not created, so themes created prior to this change could not be opened or edited on the Themes page in nVoq.Adminsitrator because they were missing that file. This has been fixed in 16.1; you can now open and edit older themes in nVoq.Administrator even if they are missing this file. The ICO file is created for older themes when the theme is saved in nVoq.Administrator. Note: The Themes page is only available to tenant level administrators and above. (D-12331, 2/15/2021)
  • Review & Correct Displaying Incorrect Data - If an administrator has Client Access in one organization but an Administrator Role for a different organization, you would see transactions in Review & Correct for the Admin Role organization when filtering transactions based on that user instead of the user's own transactions. For example, George Glass has Client Access in Group1 under Company1, but has an Admin Role for Company2. On the Review & Correct page, if you select George Glass's account to view his dictations, instead of seeing George Glass's dictations you would see dictations for all users in Company2. This has been fixed in 16.1. (D-12302, 2/15/2021)
  • Admin Users Not Seeing Complete Account Data for Own Account - Users with Client Access under one organization (for example Company A>Division A>Group A) and an Admin Role with Admin Access under another (Company B) would not see all of their own account information on the Edit Account page Roles and Access section. The Client Access section would appear enabled, but grayed out, and the Client Group would not be listed. As an administrator with Admin Access under Company B, information about users in Company A would not be accessible. This has been fixed in 16.1. Now users with an Admin Role in one organization can correctly view their own Client Access information even if the Admin Role has Admin Access to a different organization. (D-12418, 2/24/2021)
  • Automatic Redirect Back to Page when Job Completes - Uploading items like accounts can take a while, but in the current release of nVoq.Administrator if you left the Accounts page while they were being added and went to another page to do other work (like Shortcuts, for example), you could be kicked out of that page and taken back automatically to the Accounts page when the account creation job was completed, losing any work that hadn't been saved on the Shortcuts page in the process. This has been fixed in 16.1. Now if you upload items that take a while and go to another page to do other work, you will no longer be taken back to the original page when the job is complete. Instead you will just see a green notification message informing you that your job is completed, and you will stay on the page to which you navigated (not losing your work). This has been fixed on all pages where you can upload items: Accounts, Substitutions, Vocabulary, and Sentence Models. (D-12348, 3/9/2021)
  • Detail Review & Correct Next/Previous Buttons Not Working as Expected After Column Sort - When columns on the Review & Correct page were sorted differently than the default, the Next and Previous buttons on the item detail page would not work as expected for the configured sorting until the detail view was closed and reopened. (For example, with items sorted on Submit Time by oldest to newest, upon opening the oldest item in the list, the Previous button would be enabled but the Next button would not.) This has been fixed in 16.1. Now the buttons function as expected for the configured sort. (D-12432, 3/16/2021)
  • Organization Monitor Shortcuts Report Slowness - Running the Organization Monitor Shortcuts report for a large organization that uses lots of shortcuts could take a long time to complete, even for just a two week time period. The time it takes to run this report has been improved in 16.1, from minutes to seconds.  (D-12376, 3/16/2021)
  • User Seeing Shortcuts for Previously Assigned Group - If an user account was created originally with Client Access in one group (e.g. Group A), then the account was changed to remove the Client Access making the account Admin only, and then later changed again to add Client Access to a different group (Group B), the user would still be assigned to organization shortcuts for Group A instead of Group B. The work-around was to assign the account to a different group, save the account, and then assign the account to the group you want and save again. This has been fixed in 16.1. This will not occur for accounts going forward, and any account that may exist on the system in which the organization resources do not match the assigned group will be fixed and updated to the correct group when 16.1 is deployed on that system. (D-12401, 3/26/2021)
  • Topic "Unknown" for iOS Wireless Mic Dictations - Dictations recorded with the iOS Wireless Microphone would not show the topic that was used to process the dictation on the Review & Correct dictation Timeline tab or in the list view on the Review & Correct page (which is an optional column on that page). Instead the topic would be listed as "Unknown". This has been fixed in the 16.1 release of the iOS Wireless Mic. This change requires the deployment/use of the 16.1.00 version of the iOS Wireless Microphone app. (D-12439, 3/26/2021)
  • Improved Performance for Loading Review & Correct Page List View - Work was done to increase the speed of loading transactions in the list view on the Review & Correct page. In our testing, queries made from the tenant level for large tenants that could take up to 15 minutes to display one month of data are now returning the data within seconds. (D-12407, 3/26/2021; D-12566, 4/29/2021)
  • Account Upload Fails With Apostrophe in Email - The account upload process on the Upload Accounts page does not accept an apostrophe in an email address (e.g. o'[email protected]) when creating accounts using a CSV file, even though you can include them in Email when creating an account via API or on the Add Account page. This has been fixed. (D-12400, 3/30/2021)
  • Organization Menu Not Displaying After Tenant Switch (SYSTEM LEVEL) - The organization drop-down menu does not display properly if switching from one very large tenant to another large tenant. The original tenant name remains listed in the upper-right corner of the screen, and the organization drop down menu may display no organizations at all or may continue to show organizations for the previous tenant. This has been fixed. Large tenants with over 1000 organizations were too large for a "nested" tree (menu), so the tree is now generated as "flat" instead, which does not have a limit to the number of organizations that can be displayed. As a result of this change, scroll location in the menu is now remembered as you navigate to different pages in nVoq.Administrator. Additionally, the organization that you selected in the menu will now stay opened after session timeout or sign out. (D-12467,3/31/2021)
  • Fix for Enabled Through Date Incorrect for Some Accounts on Subscription Management Report - Accounts created prior to 16.0 that had an Enabled Through date, were disabled, and then re-enabled with a new Enabled Through date would continue to display the original Enabled Through date on the Subscription Management report. The problem affected only the display on the report, accounts were being disabled on the correct Enabled Through date. Around 1,200 accounts with this issue will be fixed with a migration script run on production systems the week of April 5th. (D-12498, 4/1/2021)
  • Detail Review & Correct Text and Audio Links Sometimes Missing (SYSTEM ADMIN ONLY) - Text and audio links on the Detail Review & Correct page for dictation and voice shortcuts would sometimes be missing for system level administrators in tenants configured to have the links disabled. They should always be visible to system and tenant administrators, even if the tenant is configured to have them invisible for lower-level administrators. This has been fixed. (D-12404, 4/5/2021)
  • No Reminder to Save Changes When Leaving Edit Substitutions Page Without Saving - In previous releases if you went to the Edit Substitution page and made a change to a substitution but forget to click the save button before navigating away from that page, no prompt would be presented asking if you wanted to save changes or not. Any changes that you had made would be lost when you left the page. This has been fixed. Now the page will present a message asking if you want to save your changes, with options to continue editing, discard changes, or save changes. (D-12463, 4/7/2021)
  • Cancel Button is Active But Does Nothing During Save - When items are actively being saved, a Cancel button appears at the bottom of the page. However, clicking this button does not actually cancel the save action, so the button being active is confusing. This has been fixed. The Cancel button is now disabled when a save is occurring on the following pages: Account, API Key, Custom Group, Organizations, Sentence Models, Shortcuts, Substitutions, Theme, and Vocabulary. This was also fixed on system level pages System Account and Tenant. (D-12462, 4/12/2021)
  • Words per Minute Calculation Corrected on Dictation Usage Reports - An issue with the calculation of Words Per Minute that caused this data to display as negative number has been corrected in the Dictation Usage Detail and Dictation Usage Summary reports in nVoq.Administrator. Keep in mind that this issue still exists in SayIt Administrator and will not be fixed. For correct Words Per Minutes data, refer to the nVoq.Administrator reports. (D-12388, 4/14/2021)
  • Error When Double-Clicking on Shortcut Save Button - Double-clicking on the Save button at the bottom of the page when creating a new shortcut will produce a red notification message stating, "Could not save shortcut" and the shortcut is not saved. This has been fixed in 16.1. (D-12537, 4/19/2021)
  • Disabling Subscription Plan Disables Tenant (SYSTEM LEVEL) - If you uncheck a subscription plan on the Edit Tenant page, the entire tenant is disabled. The work-around is to edit the tenant again and re-enable the tenant. This has been fixed. (D-12541, 4/19/2021)
  • Unable to Save Changes to Account - An issue was reported in which changes to an account were unable to be saved in nVoq.Administrator on the Edit Account page. The save button would be grayed out despite changing things like the enabled status of the account. This was happening because the character count of the email address was higher than the limit of 45, and the nVoq.Administrator page would not allow the save button to become available. It was discovered the the web services were not checking for a maximum character count, so accounts could be created using the API with an email addresses that was longer than nVoq.Administrator would allow. The web services to create an account and edit an account now follow the same rules as nVoq.Administrator for maximum email address character limit. Additionally, the email address character limit has been increased from 45 characters to 255 characters. This affects the email field on the Add Account and Edit Account pages as well as the CSV file used to Upload Accounts. (D-12531, 4/19/2021)
  • Problems Enabling/Disabling Shortcuts and Substitutions at Different Organization Levels - In the previous release, shortcuts or substitutions added to lower level organizations (at a group level, for example) could not be enabled or disabled at a higher organization level, like a company. A notification message would say that the change was saved, but it was not. This has been fixed. A similar issue was occurring in which substitutions added at a higher level organization could not be enabled at at lower level organization once it had been disabled has also been fixed. (D-12473, 4/27/2021)
  • Review & Correct Page Fetching Account Data Twice - An extra call to the account webservice was being made when an administrator viewed the Review & Correct page for the first time within a session. This was unnecessary, and it delayed the loading of the list view on the page. This has been fixed, which will increase the speed of transactions loading on the page the first time the page is viewed within a session. (D-12564, 4/27/2021)

Features in SayIt Administrator that are NOT in nVoq.Administrator

  • Find an Item (SYSTEM LEVEL) - The Find an Item page, which could be used in SayIt Administrator by system-level administrators to search for words in shortcuts, substitutions, or vocabulary across tenant organizations, will not be included in nVoq.Administrator and will be retired. (B-16028, 2/10/2021)
