Article Summary

Accuracy - General

  • New drugs/devices- Corpus and dictionary support for new drugs and medical devices from FDA for April and May 2023 have been added. (B-17198, B-17200)
  • SPPB- Support for Acronym SPPB (Short Physical Performance Battery) has been added. (B-17249)
  • Corrections added to All Topics - Transcripts that were corrected during April and May 2023 have been added to their corresponding Topic's corpus . New words found in these corrections have been added to the dictionary. (B-17197, B-17199)
  • Reiger for Rigor- Dictionary and corpus were adjusted so that "Reiger" should not return when "rigor" is spoken. (B-17260)
  • Orange- Dictionary and corpus were adjusted so that "orange" will return in lowercase. (B-17260)
  • Seton(s)- The dictionary was adjusted so that "seton(s)" will return in lowercase. (B-17260)
  • Wass for Was- Dictionary and corpus were adjusted so "was" will not return misspelled. (B-17260)
  • Spinal Markers- Sometimes when speaking contiguous spinal markers the second letter was returning even though it was not spoken. For example, "c one two" was sometimes returning as "C1-C2" instead of "C1-2". Occasionally spinal markers that included numbers like "2" or "4" were returning the words "to" or "for". For example, "l three four colon" was returning as "L3 for:" instead of"L3-4:" Both issues have been resolved. (D-13295)
  • B and C - We cleaned up corpus material that led to the letters "B" and "C" sometimes returning instead of "be" and "see". This issue can still occur if clinicians pause before speaking these words. (D-13255)
  • Misspelled Words - The following words were returning misspelled and have been corrected in both the dictionary and corpus material: resistant, color, proper, mellitus, intervertebral and glaucoma. (B-17299)
  • Units of Measurement- Work was done to ensure that the following units of measurement return in their abbreviated form if spoken after a number, otherwise they will be spelled out. For example dictating "5 millimeters" will return "5 mm" and "length in millimeters" will return as "length in millimeters." Support for speaking these units as individual letters is not part of this item, so for example speaking "5 D L" may not return "5 dL." We also updated "q. day" to now return "q.d." (B-16686)

  • Cassette Numbers- Number Letter combinations were transcribed with a space in between like "1A" was returning "1 A". This space has been removed. (D-13274)
  •  Parts- The Letter A was not returning capitalized when spoken after the word "parts." For example "parts A and B" was returning as "Parts a and B." This issue has been fixed. (B-17195)
