Topic Update: 08-04-2021

Accuracy - General

• Q4 2020 GM OOVs -  New or unknown words identified in corrected dictations submitted during Q4 2020 against the GM topic have been added to the dictionary. (B-16215)
• Acronyms split into two words - Acronyms like HEENT, MRSA, A1c... were returning as multiple words. This issue has been resolved. (D-12679)
• General topic improvements -  Corrected text from select dictations for May 2021 have been added to the material for all topics. Any new words in these corrections have also been added to the dictionary. (B-16148)
• Addition of new drug/device names - Support for new drug and medical devices (from FDA) for June 2021 has been added to the dictionary and corpus material across all topics. (B-16159) 

Accuracy - Cardiology

• The following issue, which also occurred in the 7/7/21 topic release, was uncovered during internal testing . Accuracy may be improved now that this issue is fixed:
  • "One hundred and fifty", "one hundred and sixty", etc...returning incorrectly (D-12637) 

Accuracy - General Medicine

• The following issues, which also occurred in the 7/7/21 topic release, were uncovered during internal testing. Accuracy may be improved now that these issues are fixed:
  • Age of "28"was returning as "20" (D-12650)
  • "A&O" (alert and oriented) was not returning correctly (D-12643)
  • "Gram" was returning as "Microgram" (D-12647)
  • "50 mcg" returning as "15 mcg" (D-12646) 

Accuracy - Orthopedics

• The following issue, which also occurred in the 7/7/21 topic release, was uncovered during internal testing. Accuracy may be improved now that this issue is fixed:
  • No dashes were appearing between spinal markers (D-12673) 

Accuracy - Pathology

• N* notations for prostrate bladder neck and apex samples - N* designations were returning as And *. This issue has been resolved. (D-12684)
