Article Summary

The deployment process for the nVoq Wireless Microphone generally begins the next business day after the last system deployment date.
All systems must be running the updated release before we begin the deployment process for the same version of the Wireless Microphone. Once submitted to Google, the application is reviewed and must be approved before it can be deployed. This usually takes a few days, but can take longer. Once approved, the application is made available to all customers.

19.0.0 Release

March 18, 2024 - See Production Deployments for deployment process start date.

If you are interested in testing the unreleased version of the Wireless Microphone on the Test system please contact nVoq Support.
  • Update Expired nVoq Password in the App with Division Strength - In the previous release if you attempt to sign in to the Wireless Microphone with an expired nVoq password, a red message displays at the bottom of the screen stating, "Your password is expired," but there is no way to update it in the Wireless Mic except to tap the Forgot Password? link and go through the cumbersome process of resetting your password that way, which includes going to a web form and getting emails. If your password expires while you are already signed in to the Wireless microphone, your next attempt to dictate will sign you out and take you back to the sign in screen (with still with no way of changing your password without using the Forgot Password? link). This process has been improved. In the 19.0.0 release if your password is expired when you sign in to the Wireless Mic or if it becomes expired while you are already signed in, the application displays a screen where you can change your password without having to go through the rigmarole of using the Forgot Password process. This update is not relevant for users who sign in with SSO accounts. (B-17453, 1/25/2024, 19.0.0 b84)
  • Android Wireless Mic Honors Division's Password Settings - In previous releases if you change your nVoq password in the Wireless Microphone app, your password had to be "strong" regardless of the strength requirement configured for your organization (at the division level). In the 19.0.0 release when you change your password in the app, the strength requirement configured for your organization is honored, and that requirement displays at the top of that screen so you know what it is. (If your account has an Administrator Role your password strength requirement is medium regardless of what is configured for the division. This is also stated at the top of the screen.) The Password History settings will also be honored. If your organization prevents a certain number of previous passwords from being reused and you try to use one of those previous passwords, the Wireless Microphone will display a message that says, "Password has been used previously." Division-level Password Expiration settings are honored as well. The Wireless Microphone will notify you that your password will expire in a certain number of days. The number of days before passwords expire that you are notified is configured for your division under a setting called Warning Time. When your password reaches that number of days before expiration the Wireless Microphone will display a screen where you can change your password that says "Your password expires in # days." This screen displays once a day when you sign in to the Wireless Microphone, when you go to the Settings screen, or when you try to dictate, use a shortcut, or use Note Assist. This update is not relevant for users who sign in with SSO accounts. (B-17453, 1/25/2024, 19.0.0 b84; B-17441, 1/31/2024, 19.0.0 b89)

18.2.0 Release

October 2023

  • Wireless Mic for Android Supported on Android 10+  - The nVoq Wireless Microphone for Android is no longer supported by nVoq on the Android 9 mobile operating system (which was released August 2018). The oldest operating system now supported is Android 10 (released September 2019). In a future release the Wireless Microphone will cease to be available from the Play Store for devices running anything older than Android 10. (B-17263, 8/21/2023)
  • SSO Not Supported, Sign In Documentation Updated - The nVoq Wireless Microphones do not support signing in with an SSO account (like Okta or Microsoft Azure) on the dictation client (like nVoq.Voice) and signing in with an nVoq account on the Wireless Microphone. You must use an nVoq account to sign in to the Wireless Microphone, and you must sign in to the dictation client using the same nVoq account. Documentation for signing into the Wireless Microphone was updated to make this more clear. (D-13325, 8/30/2023)
  • Lockout Message Clarifies What to Do About It, Displays Longer - The message that you see when your account is locked has been updated from, "Your account is locked. Please contact your administrator." to "Your account is temporarily locked. Please try again after 15 minutes or reset your password for immediate access." Additionally this message appears for a longer time so you have more of a chance to read it. Your account is locked when you enter an incorrect password too many times, or if your nVoq password was changed and the Wireless Microphone is still trying to sign in with your previous password. You do not need to contact an administrator when this happens though. As the message suggests, you can either wait 15 minutes for your account to unlock, or you can reset your password. Note however that your number of failed login attempts only resets to zero when you change your password or log in successfully. It does NOT reset after the 15 minute account lockout period expires. Also note that if your password was changed in another nVoq application, you must sign in to the Wireless Microphone (and all other nVoq applications) with that new password. (D-13357, 9/20/2023)

18.1.0 Release

July 2023

  •  New About Message Shows Version - On the Settings screen you can now tap the About link to see a popup message that displays the version of the Wireless Microphone your device is currently running, and whether or not there is a newer version available on the Google Play store. (B-16864, 6/6/2023)

18.0.0 Release

March 2023

  •  No changes in the app for this release.

17.2.0 Release

November 2022

  • Dictation and Settings Screen Icons Color Change - In previous releases when viewing either the dictation screen or the settings screen, the icon for the screen not being viewed was grayed out, making it appear unavailable. The color has been updated in the 17.2.0 release. Now the icon for the screen being viewed in orange, while the icon for the one not being viewed is bright white. (B-16546, 7/27/2022)
  • Only Insert Text Shortcuts Appear in All Shortcuts List for SayIt on Mac - Starting with the 17.2.0 release, if you're linked to SayIt on a Mac computer, the All Shortcuts list only displays Insert Text shortcuts even if you have other types of shortcuts. SayIt is scheduled to be retired in December 2022, so this issue will not be fixed. If you need to run other types of shortcuts while linked to SayIt on Mac, use the hotkey on the keyboard to run them or use a voice shortcut. (D-13094, 10/24/2022)

17.1.0 Release

July 2022

  • Fix for Inability to Sign In After System Change - Users who have accounts on more than one system (such as the Test system and the Healthcare system) are unable to sign in to the 17.0.0 Android Wireless Microphone after changing the system. The work-around is to close the app and re-launch it and then sign in to a different system. The Wireless Microphone was using the username and password for the previously selected system as credentials for the newly selected system, causing the issue. This has been fixed in the 17.1.0 release. (D-12952, 4/14/2022)
  • Android Wireless Mic Error for Long Silence Detected in Dictation Recording - The Wireless Microphone was updated to handle the ReDS dictation server automatically stopping dictation processing when a configurable length of silence (180 seconds by default) is detected. (See 17.1.0 Release Notes under nVoq Dictation for more information about that.) The new error message in the Wireless Microphone says, "Error encountered during dictation. Please try again." When used with SayIt, SayIt will also display an error at the same time that says, "Long silence was detected. Please try again." When this error occurs, recording stops and any transcript that may have been recorded up to that point is pasted where the cursor was placed and is available in Review & Correct. Dictation recordings that display this error are marked in Review & Correct with an error stating, "Stopped dictation due to silence exceeding # seconds." (B-16683, 6/15/2022; B-16803, 6/28/2022 )

17.0.0 Release

March 2022

  • Credentials Saved - Last used system, username, and password are now saved on the nVoq.Wireless Microphone for Android sign in screen so you can quickly sign back in. If the password is changed in another nVoq application (like nVoq.Voice, SayIt, or nVoq.Administrator), the new password will still need to be typed into the password field to sign in to the Wireless Microphone, but will be saved after that. This matches the functionality of the nVoq.Wireless Microphone for iOS. (B-16276, 10/18/2021)
  • Link to Connect to Voice Client Blocked by Toolbar - Using a smaller Android device, such as the Samsung S7, the link that you must tap to connect to a voice client is hidden behind the Dictation and Settings toolbar at the bottom of the screen, making it impossible to link to a voice client to use dictation. This has been fixed. (D-12690, 11/2/2021)
  • Updated Change Password Screen - The change password screen on the Android Wireless Microphone has been updated with a new look that is more consistent with the iOS Wireless Microphone. The color changing bar below the New Password field is now three bars (red, orange, and green) which appear as the password you type passes the criteria for a weak (red), medium (orange) and strong (green) password. As a reminder, passwords changed in the Wireless Microphone app must be "strong" regardless of what is configured for the account at the division level. The Change Password button will not become active until a strong password has been entered into the New Password field and a password has also been entered into the Confirm New Password field. Error messages present if the password your entered in the Old Password field does not match the password currently set for your account ("Old password must match current password") or if the password you typed in the New Password field is different than the one you typed in the Confirm New Password field ("New and confirm not matching"). (D-12817, 12/17/2021)
  • Quick Access Shortcut Buttons Grayed Out During Dictation - The quick access shortcut buttons should be grayed out while recording a dictation to indicate that they cannot be used at that time. In the previous version of the Wireless Microphone, these buttons were not grayed out during dictation, though they still could not be used while a dictation was recording. This has been fixed. In the 17.0.0 release of the Wireless Microphone the text on the quick access shortcut buttons is grayed out while a dictation recording is in progress. (D-12583, 1/12/2022)
  • Links on Settings Screen Not Working in Android 11 - The Support Center link and Terms of Use link on the Settings screen do not work on devices running Android 11. This has been fixed. (D-12739, 2/22/2022)
  • Tapped Shortcut in All Shortcuts List Not Highlighted - Unlike the iOS Wireless Microphone, the Android Wireless Microphone was not highlighting a shortcut when you tap it on in the list of All Shortcuts to run it. This has been fixed. Now when you tap on a shortcut in the All Shortcuts list, it is highlighted so you can easily see which one you tapped. (D-12584, 2/11/2022)
  • Automatic Pairing with Dictation Client - Unlike the iOS Wireless Microphone, the Wireless Microphone for Android would not automatically link to a voice client to which you were already signed in. Instead, you had to tap the link that said, "Please sign in to Voice Client then tap here" and manually select your client. This has been fixed. Now the Android Wireless Microphone will automatically pair to a voice client on sign in if you are signed in to the client with the same account as the app. (You must also have configured the nVoq voice client to use the Wireless Microphone as the recording device.) If you are signed in to more than one voice client on multiple computers, the app links to the first in the list. You can manually change the client the app is paired with by tapping on the link and selecting a different client. (D-12496, 2/15/2022)

16.2 Release

September 2021

  • Change Password Error Message Change - If you change the password in nVoq.Administrator while signed in to nVoq.Voice and the nVoq.Wireless Microphone, both Voice and the Wireless Microphone drop the connection the next time you try to dictate to allow you to sign in with your new password. In the previous release, the error message that displayed in the Android Wireless Microphone just said "Unauthorized" which did not describe the problem and also did not match the message displayed in nVoq.Voice ("Invalid username and/or password"). The error message that displays in the Android Wireless Microphone in this situation has now been updated to match the message in Voice and says, "Invalid username and/or password." (D-12521, 5/10/2021)*
  • Improved Voice Shortcuts Button Interface with nVoq.Voice - The nVoq.Wireless Microphone for Android now knows that voice shortcuts cannot be used while linked to nVoq.Voice. The 16.2 version of the nVoq.Wireless Microphone for Android will now display their voice shortcut button as grayed out when paired with the 16.2 version of nVoq.Voice. (B-16073 5/18/2021)*
  • Error Message Now Presents After Losing Link to nVoq.Voice After Password Change - If you change your password in the Android nVoq.Wireless Microphone while linked to nVoq.Voice you will be automatically signed out of nVoq.Voice the next time you try to perform a dictation, as expected. When you log back into Voice with your new password, even though it appears that the Wireless Microphone is still linked to nVoq.Voice, you are unable to record dictations. Now an error message presents in this situation letting you know that you need to reselect a voice client for dictation. (D-12577, 5/20/2021)*
  • Forward and Back Buttons Now Tab Through Form Fields When Linked to nVoq.Voice - The forward arrow button (▶▶) and back arrow button (◀◀) can now be used to tab forward and backwards through form fields in a web browser on your desktop when linked to nVoq.Voice. Previously these buttons did not function at all when linked to nVoq.Voice. To use this feature, you must be linked to a 16.2 version of nVoq.Voice. (B-16107, 5/24/2021)*
  • Occasional Inability to Run Shortcuts in nVoq.Voice from nVoq.Wireless Microphones - Occasionally users were unable to run shortcuts from either the Android or the iOS nVoq.Wireless Microphone when linked to nVoq.Voice. If you tapped on a shortcut on the Wireless Mic, nothing would happen. Shortcuts would start working again automatically after multiple failed attempts. This issue has been fixed in the event processing web service for 16.2 so requires the 16.2 platform upgrade on your system. (D-12617, 6/14/2021)*
  • Smaller Size App Optimized for Your Device - Google Play now uses "app bundles" to deliver apps in the Google Play Store so that app installations are optimized for each device configuration and only install what is needed for your specific device. This allows nVoq.Wireless Microphone to have a smaller footprint on your device when downloaded from Google Play. (B-16225, 8/23/2021)*

16.1 Release

May 2021

  • Confusing Error Message When Typing Wrong Username/Password - If you type in the wrong username and/or password when logging in to the Android Wireless Mic app you would receive an error message stating, "There is an issue with your account. Please contact your administrator." This was not helpful, as it did not explain the problem. This has been fixed. Now if you type in the wrong username and/or password the message displayed is, "Invalid username and/or password".  (D-12311, 1/29/2021)
  • Options Removed from Settings Screen - The Echo Cancellation, Noise Suppression, and High-pass Filter options on the Settings screen were not being used and have been removed. (D-12337, 1/29/2021)
  • Fix for Edited Shortcut Name Not Updating on Quick Access Button - If the NAME of a shortcut assigned to a quick access button was changed in the administrator console or in SayIt, there was no way to update the name of the shortcut on the quick access button. If the name was updated in the administrator console, the button would continue to work and run the shortcut until the name was updated in the shortcut list in SayIt. At that point, the name on the button would no longer match the name of the shortcut SayIt was expecting and would do nothing. (If an account shortcut name was changed in SayIt, the shortcut name on the button would stops matching immediately.) The work-around was to re-assign the button to the new shortcut name in the All Shortcuts list, but to do that you had to know the new name of the shortcut. In the 16.1.00 version of the Wireless Mic app, if a shortcut name is changed in either SayIt or the administrator console, the name on the quick access button is automatically updated when you log out and log back in to the app. (D-12310, 2/2/2021)
  • Fix for Recording Not Stopped for Incoming Phone Call - Answering an incoming phone call in while recording a dictation or voice shortcut should interrupt the recording and stop it automatically. The same thing is supposed to happen any time the phone navigates to a different screen, such as going to the Settings screen in the app, locking your phone, or opening a different app. This was not happening in previous versions, and the app would continue recording in these situations. In the 16.1.00 version of the app, any of these events will stop the dictation or voice shortcut recording. If recording a dictation when one of these events occurs, the transcript for the dictation you had recorded up until that point is pasted where you placed your cursor and the recording is stopped. Depending on your Android version, the dictation may be interrupted anytime there is an incoming call, or you may be able to "reject" the call without the dictation being interrupted. (D-12339, 2/2/2021)
  • Fix for Topic Change in nVoq.Voice Not Honored by Wireless Microphone - If the dictation topic was changed to something other than the topic set for the group, the Wireless Microphone app would not honor that setting and the Wireless Microphone would continue to process dictations using the topic set for the group. This has been fixed. Now the topic selected in nVoq.Voice is used to process dictations recorded with the Wireless Microphone. (D-12476, 3/19/2021)
  • New Name, New Look - The SayIt Wireless Microphone is now called the nVoq.Wireless Microphone and has a whole new look. There is now a welcome screen when you first sign in, and the background and button colors have been updated on the sign in screen, the Dictation screen, the Settings screen, and the Change Password screen. On the GooglePlay store the app will now be called "nVoq Mic" and will have an orange icon.  (B-16077, 3/24/2021; B-16071, 3/24/2021; D-12552, 4/26/2021)
  • Themes No longer Supported - With the new design of the app themes created in the administrator console are no longer applied to the Wireless Microphone for Android. Prior to this release the theme appeared on the Wireless Microphone as a customized client name on the login screen above the login credentials, and as a customized color that appeared on the Sign In button and as an outline on the Dictation and Voice Shortcut buttons. (B-16077, 3/24/2021; B-16071, 3/24/2021)
  • Easier to See Error Message for Lost Internet Connection - In the previous release the error message that displays if the Wireless Microphone loses connection to the Internet was hidden behind a navigation bar, so you couldn't see it and would not know what problem was occurring. This has been fixed. The error message now displays in the lower part of the screen on top of everything else, and the color has been updated to white text on a red background to make it stand out. The error states, "Oooops! Looks like you lost your internet connection" (D-12477, 3/24/2021)
  • Updated Error Message When You Cannot Connect to the Server - In the previous release, if you try to sign in to a system but could not connect to the server you would see an error message that just said, "error".  This message was updated to say, "Ooop! Something went wrong. Try again later." and now matches the error message that displays in the iOS app for this same issue. This error may indicate that a connection cannot be made to the server and you should sure you have access to the Internet. (D-12478, 3/26/2021)
  • Run Shortcuts in nVoq.Voice from the All Shortcuts Menu in Android Wireless Mic - The ability to activate shortcuts from the Android Wireless Microphone on a computer running nVoq.Voice has been added in this release. Shortcuts can only be run from the app by tapping a shortcut name in the All Shortcuts menu. The shortcuts that you see in the menu when you are linked to nVoq.Voice will be limited to Insert text shortcuts, which are the only type of shortcuts that can be run in nVoq.Voice. If you used the Wireless Microphone with SayIt previously and have shortcuts assigned to quick access buttons that are not Insert shortcuts, those will remain assigned to the buttons but will not be functional while linked to nVoq.Voice. (B-16074, 4/28/2021)

16.0 Release

January 2021

  • Experimental Label Removed from Input Device Setting - On the Settings screen under More Options the term "Experimental" has been removed from the Select Input Device setting. This setting, which allows you to use a different recording input other than your device's internal microphone, like a Bluetooth device, is stable and no longer considered experimental. (B-15776,9/9/2020)
  • Fix for New Shortcuts Require Logout to View In App - New shortcuts added via SayIt, either administrator console, or Shortcut Designer are not displayed in the All Shortcuts list until the user logged out of the app and logged back in, even though shortcuts added from these sources could be used as voice shortcuts almost immediately after being added. This has been fixed. Now when viewing the All Shortcuts list you can drag down from the top of the screen to refresh the list. (D-11232, 9/17/2020)
  • Change Password Built In to Setup and Settings - You can now change your initial password (when required do so) as part of the initial sign in after installing the app, and from the Settings screen within the app. In previous releases, the only way to change the password from the app was to use the Forgot Password? link on the sign in screen. As a work-around you could change your password in SayIt first and then log in to the wireless microphone app. Note that the app does not honor the password strength set at your division level organization. You must enter a "strong" password (at least 8 characters and must contain lowercase, uppercase, number, and a symbol) regardless of the setting at the division. (B-15800, 9/30/2020)
  • Google Analytics Added - Google Analytics have been linked to actions in the Wireless Microphone app so that nVoq can review and analyze how customers are using the app. This data will help when making decisions about updates and improvements to the application. (B-15846, 11/4/2020)
  • Fix for Shortcut List Shows Duplicate Names - If a shortcut with the same exact name exists as both an organization shortcut and an account shortcut, both shortcuts appear in the shortcut list in the app. This has been fixed. Now the list will only display the account shortcut if it is named the same as an organization shortcut. (D-12267, 11/10/2020)
  • Fix for App Crash When Entering Email Address in Server Field - Entering information formatted as an email address into the Server field on the Sign In screen would cause the app to crash. This has been fixed. Now if an email address is entered into this field, a message stating "Invalid Path" appears below the field. (B-15848, 11/16/2020)
  • Deleted Shortcuts Removed from Quick Access Buttons - A shortcut that has been deleted it is automatically removed from the quick access button the next time you tap the button to attempt to use the shortcut. The deleted shortcut may run one last time when you tap the button, but will still be removed from the button if it has been deleted in either SayIt or the administrator console. (D-12150, 11/16/2020)
  • Ability to See Password Characters - On the reset password screen that appears when you change your password in the app you can now see the characters you type to be sure you have entered the password correctly. Click the eye icon in each password field to see the characters you have typed. (B-15847, 11/23/2020)

15.2 Release

September 2020 (GA)

  • Transcription Tab Removed - The Transcription tab in the bottom row (next to the Dictation and Settings tabs) has been removed. It was not functional and has been removed to allow the app to be a "GA" release. (B-15639, 6/3/2020)
  • Microphone Property Posted to Dictation APIs - The nVoq Wireless Microphone for Android will now post a microphone property to the Retrieve transactions and Retrieve a single transaction APIs to show that this microphone was used in a dictation. (B-14978, 6/4/2020)
  • Voice Compression Setting Removed - The Voice Compression setting on the Settings screen in the app has been removed. In the past the setting would be posted to the user's account properties under "Android w Mic Ogg Compression" if it was changed on the app to something other than the default setting (which was 1), but will no longer be posted to account properties at all. Though the old user-set property may still appear listed in the account properties, all who are using the latest version of the app have their compression set at 1, which is the highest compression and consumes the least possible network data of the user's data plan. (B-15575, 6/4/2020)
  • All Shortcuts List Now in Correct Order - When tapping on the All Shortcuts button, the list of shortcuts was not in alphabetical order. Instead account shortcuts appeared at the top of the list followed by organization shortcuts. This has been fixed. Now account shortcuts and organization shortcuts are intermingled, listed alphabetically. (D-11375, 6/9/2020)
  • Improved Labeling on Shortcut Buttons - When four shortcut buttons below the All Shortcuts button are assigned to account or organization shortcuts, shortcuts with long names appear with an ellipsis (...) in the middle of the name so that you can see the beginning of the shortcut name and the end of it. The ellipsis used to be followed by multiple space characters, leaving a large gap in the middle. This gap has been reduced in size now so that you can see more of the shortcut name. (B-14581,  6/9/2020)
  • Graphical User Interface Improvements - Updates were made to the look and feel of the dictation screen. The dictation and voice shortcut buttons are larger than the other buttons on the screen and are outlined with a color from a theme (applied in the administrator console). The app now looks more like the Wireless Microphone app for iOS. (B-14858. 6/15/2020)
  • Fix for App Crash When Repeatedly Pressing Record Button Quickly - The Wireless Microphone app would freeze up and crash if the record button or the shortcut button was pressed repeatedly at a fast pace. The record button would still look like it was recording, but the screen was frozen and the dictation would never finish processing. The work-around was to close out of the application and restart it. This issue has been fixed. (D-11647,6/23/2020)
  • Fix for Invisible Shortcuts in Shortcut List - Shortcuts configured as "invisible" in the administrator console were displaying in the All Shortcuts list in the Wireless Microphone. This has been fixed; these shortcuts no longer appear in the list. (D-11374, 6/30/2020)
  • Shortcut Folders Removed - Because Wireless Microphone users don't generally use shortcut folders, this feature has been removed from the application. When you click on the Search field (after tapping the All Shortcuts button), you will no longer see shortcut folders in the list, and the Search field can only be used for searching for shortcuts. (B-15684, 7/1/2020)
  • Change Password Removed from Settings - The Change Password option on the Settings screen has been removed because it was not functional. If you need to change your password you can do so from SayIt. (B-15667, 7/1/2020)
  • Fix for Sign In System Defaults to Eval - The System field on the sign in screen was configured with the Eval system (eval.nvoq.com), which is no longer is service, being the default system. This has been fixed and the new default system is the Healthcare system (healthcare.nvoq.com). The Canada system (canada.nvoq.com) is also pre-populated, and to select that system you would tap on the system name and then tap on canada.nvoq.com in the list. If you need to log in to another system you can still just type that system URL into the field. (D-11662, 7/2/2020)
  • Fix for Unauthorized Message - When a user password is changed in either SayIt or the administrator console while the user is logged in to the Wireless Microphone application on their device, the application automatically logs the user out when the dictation or voice shortcut button on the app is tapped. Previously when this happened the user would see a message that looked like HTML code with a 401 error. Now the user is correctly presented with a message that says "Unauthorized". The user then needs to log in to the Wireless Microphone app with the new password.  (D-11626, 7/6/2020)
  • Fix for Users with No Client Access Being Able to Log In - An administrator user with no client access could sign in to the app successfully, but would see an error if they attempt to use shortcuts or dictation. Admin-only users should not be able to log in to the app at all. Now when an administrator that does not have client access attempts to log in to the app an error message stating, "Uh oh! Account not authorized for this service." will appear on the login screen. (D-11191, 7/8/2020)
  • Detect and Use Other Microphones for Dictation - The Wireless Microphone app detects when other microphones are connected to the Android device via microphone input jack or Bluetooth and allows you to select the one you'd like to use to record audio through the app. If the microphone becomes disconnected from your device, dictation will continue seamlessly using the default microphone. (B-15668, 7/9/2020)
  • Rate the Wireless Mic App - You will now be presented with the opportunity to rate the Wireless Microphone app and provide comments as to how it's working for you. The Rate the Wireless Microphone message will appear two weeks after app installation. You have three options on that screen: Rate It, Not Now, or Never Ask Again. If you tap "Rate It" a new screen opens where you can give your feedback. If you tap "Not Now", the message will appear again after two weeks. If you tap "Never Ask Again", you will not see the message again. (B-14408, 7/13/2020)
  • Quick Tutorial for New Users - On initial sign in to the app new users are now presented with a quick tutorial showing which button to tap to record a dictation and which button to tap to record a voice shortcut. The tutorial only appears the first time a user logs in on a particular device, and the user must be logged in to the SayIt client in order to see the tutorial. (B-14410, 7/20/2020)
  • New Audio Meter - The audio meter on the app has changed from a solid horizontal bar above the dictation button to a convex shape that goes from smaller to larger, still located above the dictation button. The audio meter appears when you record a dictation or a voice shortcut to indicate that the app can hear you, and your volume is indicated by how high the convex marks reach up towards the top of the screen. 14.2 Release

May 2019

  • All Shortcuts Button - The All Shortcuts button can be used to run shortcuts without saying a voice command. Click on the button to open a list of organization and account shortcuts; tap on one to run it. Click into the search field to look for a specific shortcut or to find a shortcut folder. (B-14383)
  • Quick Access Shortcut Buttons - Four buttons on the Dictation screen (below the voice shortcut button) can now be assigned to frequently used shortcuts that you can quickly run with a single tap. Tap and hold to open the list of all account and organization shortcuts and assign the button to one of them. Buttons can be reassigned to a different shortcut at any time, but it is not possible to remove a shortcut assignment from a button from within the app. However an administrator can do this from the administrator console by resetting the appropriate Android W Mic Shortcut Button account property. (B-14381)
  • Select and Say Voice Commands - You can now use the commands "Next," "Previous," and "Accept Dictation" as well as other Select and Say voice commands when working within the Select and Say window with the Android Wireless Microphone as your recording device. (B-14767)
  • Forward, Back, and Accept Buttons - The forward (▶▶) and back (◀◀) buttons now allow you to navigate through a Select and Say template (with square bracket fields). They can also be used to move forward and back through form fields in a web browser on your desktop. Tap the accept button () to close the Select and Say window and paste the contents of the window into your system of record. (B-14376)
  • Play Button for Last Dictation Recording - The play (▶) button now allows you to listen to your last dictation recording. This recording is cleared when you leave the application. Note that this button only plays last dictation recording, it does not play last voice shortcut recording. (B-14377)
  • Theme Applied - A "theme," which can be created in SayIt Administrator to change the color scheme, logo, and names of the voice client and administrator console, is now applied to the Android Wireless Microphone app. If a theme is applied to a company level organization, the "Voice Client Name" and the "Primary Color" appear on the Android Wireless Microphone for all accounts in groups under that company. The Voice Client Name appears at the top of the login screen above the credentials. The Primary Color appears on the Sign In button, and as an outline around both the dictation (microphone icon) button and the voice shortcuts (star icon) button. (B-14794)

14.0 Release

February 2019 (ALPHA)

  • NEW Wireless Microphone App for Android (Alpha) - nVoq has a new Wireless Microphone app for Android, and in the 14.0 release the app is in its initial alpha release. It does not yet have full functionality, but does include the ability to use both dictation andvoice shortcuts. This initial alpha version does not yet include the ability to use the Transcription feature or the Select and Say forward, rewind, and accept buttons, however the voice commands for select and say do work, including “open select and say”, “next” and “previous,” and “accept dictation”. Only voice shortcuts are supported at this time - shortcut buttons cannot be assigned to shortcuts yet, and when you tap the All Shortcuts button, you will see a list of all of your shortcuts, but you cannot use these buttons. Nothing will happen yet when you tap shortcuts on that list. Moreover, Fast Shortcuts do not work on the Wireless Microphone for Android.
This page shows a version history only for the new Wireless Microphone for Android first released in February 2019. Version history for the original wireless mic app is not included here.
