info.gifWe have improved the probability of the changes listed below returning accurately.
If you find that specific terms are not still working correctly after a topic release, we recommend adding vocabulary and/or substitutions to improve recognition. Additionally, transcripts in which words are not recognized accurately should be corrected so we can harvest them each month and add them to the appropriate topic's corpus.

Accuracy - General

  • New Drugs/Devices Support – (B-17993, S-17995; 20250411)  Corpus and dictionary support for new drugs and medical devices approved by the FDA between January and March 2025 have been added.

  • Seconds - (D-13461; 20250409) Previously, the term "seconds" was being misinterpreted as a fraction rather than a time unit. For example, "thirty second hold" was incorrectly returning as "30/2 hold" instead of "30 second hold." This issue has now been resolved.

  • Acoustic Model Improvements – (S-17856, D-13398, D-13429, D-13451; 202503031) Topics have been trained with improved acoustic data, addressing the following issues:

    • Reduced occurrence of non-spoken words (e.g., "A" or "I") appearing at the beginning of transcripts.

    • Reduced occurrence of "period" punctuation being misrecognized as “good.”

    • Fewer word omissions at the beginning of a transcript

  • Comma Punctuation Recognition Fix (D-13743; 20250312) We addressed an issue where the comma punctuation was misrecognized as "come a" or "com at" in certain cases. Recognition accuracy for these instances has been improved.

  • Homonym Fixes – (D-13703; 20250408) Homonyms like beat/beet, our/are, where/wear/were, U/you and 4/for were given support so that they now return correctly for specific samples included in this item.

  • Enumerations – (S-18051; 20250402) We have improved the recognition of enumerations in various formats, for example:

    • newline number <1,2...>

    • period number <1,2...>

    • number <1,2..>

  • Removal of Support for "Dr." Followed by Letter Homonyms – (B-17841; 20250305) Support has been removed for "Dr." followed directly by a single letter (e.g., C, B, N, A, H) in the corpus. These instances were causing incorrect returns, for example, “C” was returning instead of “see,” and “B” instead of “be.”

    Another example:

    • Before: "Dr. N family are in agreement with plan of care."

    • After: "Doctor and family are in agreement with plan of care.”
The system will interpret and output “Dr.” followed by the spoken name if it matches an entry in our names list. If the following word is not a recognized as a name or isn't in the list, the word “doctor” will return instead. If "doctor" followed by a name does not return as "Dr." preceding the name, add "Dr. [Name]" as a vocabulary to ensure correct recognition and formatting. (Note: The documentation and video for nVoq Administrator Vocabulary has been updated to reflect this.)

  • Insert Routine – (S-18052; 20250410) Extra support was added for "insert routine" so these words return accurately.

  • 2.x and 4.x – (D-13704; 20250411) Fixed an issue in which decimal numbers starting with 2 or 4 were not returning in the correct numerical format.

  • Scratch That – (S-18050; 20250411) Extra support was added for "scratch that" so these words return correctly.

  • New words from Corrections – (S-18116; 20250414) Support for new words identified in corrected dictations submitted between Sept 2024 through Feb 2025 was added to the dictionary with limited support in the appropriate topics.
