16.2 nVoq.Voice Release
June 2021

nVoq.Voice

  • Improved Interface with nVoq.Wireless Microphone Voice Shortcuts Button - nVoq.Voice was updated so that it can now specify that voice shortcuts cannot be used while using an nVoq.Wireless Microphone as the recording device. The 16.2 versions of the nVoq.Wireless Microphone for both Android and iOS will now display their voice shortcut button as grayed out when paired with the 16.2 version of nVoq.Voice. You must be linked to a 16.2 version of the Android or the iOS nVoq.Wireless Microphone for this feature. (B-16073 5/18/2021)
  • Forward and Back Buttons on nVoq.Wireless Microphones Function with nVoq.Voice - nVoq.Voice and the nVoq.Wireless Microphones have been updated so that the forward arrow button (▶▶) and back arrow button (◀◀) on the nVoq.Wireless Microphones can now be used to tab forward and backwards through form fields in a web browser on your desktop when linked to nVoq.Voice. Previously these buttons did not function at all when linked to nVoq.Voice. This feature only requires the 16.2 version of nVoq.Voice; you can use the existing version of the iOS or Android Wireless Microphone.  (B-16132, 5/24/2021; B-16107, 5/24/2021)
  • Manage Account Shortcuts Right Inside nVoq.Voice - You no longer have to log in to nVoq.Administrator to add or edit your own account shortcuts for nVoq.Voice! The Design Shortcuts link on the Voice system tray menu has been removed and now there is a plus symbol near the top of the shortcut menu itself, which opens the shortcut fields (Name, Description, and Written Form) right inside the shortcut menu window. You can resize the window to easily work and save your shortcut within the window. Account shortcuts in the shortcut list have an actions menu beside them from which you can edit the shortcut or delete it. You can only create (or edit or delete) account shortcuts that insert text. Other shortcut types are not supported in nVoq.Voice. (B-16099 5/26/2021)

Bug Fixes in nVoq.Voice

  • Settings Message Box Text Fixed -  If any setting is changed on the Settings screen immediately after uploading logs using the Upload Logs button, the wording in the green success message box is nearly invisible. This was caused by two messages overlapping each other (one for the upload of logs and the other for the changed setting) and has been fixed. (D-12560, 5/17/2021)
  • Lockout When Password Changed in nVoq.Admin While Linked to Wireless Mic - If you changed your password in nVoq.Administrator while logged in to nVoq.Voice and one of the nVoq.Wireless Microphone apps, you would be automatically signed out of nVoq.Voice and the nVoq.Wireless Microphone, as expected. However, your account could also be locked in this scenario due to automatic attempts by nVoq.Voice to deregister the Wireless Microphone or attempts to upload logs (if logging was turned on for the user account) when nVoq.Voice was signed out. This has been fixed. nVoq.Voice no longer attempts to deregister the Wireless Microphone in this situation, and it will no longer try to upload a log if logging is turned on for the user. The client log is appended when the user sign back in to the nVoq.Voice, and (if logging is enabled for the user) the log file is uploaded to nVoq.Administrator the next time the user signs out or closes Voice under normal circumstances. (D-12547, 5/18/2021)
  • Invalid Password Message When Using Back Button - If you accidentally click the Sign in to Microsoft button on the Voice Sign In screen and then use the Back button on the Microsoft Sign In screen to get back to the Voice screen, the Voice Sign In screen presents an invalid username or password error message, even though no username or password has been entered. This has been fixed and the Back button now works as expected. (D-12532, 5/20/2021)
  • Dictation Button Stuck Behind Taskbar - The dictation button can become stuck behind the taskbar if you drag it too far to the bottom of the screen, and once that happens it can no longer be moved. The work-around is to close and reopen nVoq.Voice. This has been fixed. Now the dictation button bounces back into the viewable area of the screen if dragged too far off. (D-12595, 5/21/2021)
  • Welcome Screen Not Displayed - The welcome screen is not displayed when launching the 16.1 version of nVoq.Voice for the first time after installation. Instead, the user is taken directly to the sign in screen. This has been fixed in 16.2. (D-12589, 5/21/2021)
  • Trailing Slash on Healthcare URL Causes Problems with Wireless Mic Registration - On the sign in screen of the 16.0 and 16.1 versions of nVoq.Voice, the Healthcare system URL listed by default has a trailing slash at the end (https://healthcare.nvoq.com/). This causes problems if you're trying to link to an nVoq.Wireless Microphone, as the Wireless Microphone does not see the nVoq.Voice session as an available destination. The work-around is to remove the trailing slash from the URL manually before signing in to nVoq.Voice. This has been fixed. In the 16.2 version of nVoq.Voice the trailing slash has been removed from the Healthcare URL on the sign in screen, a trailing slash will be automatically removed even if a user enters one manually, and for existing users the trailing slash will be removed if the URL with the trailing slash is stored in the system. (D-12597, 5/24/2021)
  • Trailing Slash on Healthcare URL Causes Problems with Logging & Requesting Logs - On the sign in screen of the 16.0 and 16.1 versions of nVoq.Voice, the Healthcare system URL listed by default has a trailing slash at the end (https://healthcare.nvoq.com/). This causes problems if you are trying to capture logs for a user. nVoq.Voice will not register logging as being enabled for the user even if the Logging page in nVoq.Adminstrator shows that logging is enabled. Moreover, if logs are requested for nVoq.Voice from the Logging page in nVoq.Administrator, the log will never be uploaded. (D-12598, 5/24/2021)
  • Error Handling for Rejected Dictations - If a dictation server rejects a dictation for some reason, nVoq.Voice could get into a bad state causing issues like the transcript bubble disappearing while the record button remained in record mode (orange). The work-around in this case is to click the dictation button again. Error handling has now been added to nVoq.Voice to get the client back to a normal state automatically in cases like this. If the dictation server rejects a dictation, the client now resets the dictation button back to non-record mode (purple). (D-12529, 5/25/2021)
  • Shortcuts Don't Initially Run from nVoq.Wireless Microphone - The previous version of nVoq.Voice would not allow shortcuts from either the Android or the iOS nVoq.Wireless Microphone to run unless the shortcut menu had been opened at least oncewithin nVoq.Voice first. If you tapped the shortcut name in the list on the Wireless Microphone, no text would be pasted. This has been fixed. In the 16.2 version of nVoq.Voice, shortcuts can be run from either of the nVoq.Wireless Microphone apps whether the shortcut menu has been opened in nVoq.Voice or not. (D-12621, 6/9/2021)
  • Space Not Automatically Added After Shortcut Text - nVoq.Voice was not automatically adding a space after pasting shortcut text. The work-around was to add the space manually after the pasted text or to alter the Written Form of the shortcut to include a space at the end of the shortcut text. This has been fixed; in 16.2 nVoq.Voice will now automatically add a space at the end of text pasted from insert shortcuts. (D-12627, 6/10/2021)
  • Dictations with the Home Healthcare and Hospice Topic Do Not Work - When the dictation topic is set to "Home Healthcare and Hospice" either in the nVoq.Voice Settings or in nVoq.Administrator on the Organizations page for the group, dictations do not work. The dictation button flashes to record mode (orange) and the speech bubble may appear briefly on the screen, but the dictation will not be recorded. This has been fixed. The Home Healthcare and Hospice topic has now been added to the map of topics so that dictations sent to this topic work normally. Additionally, if for some reason a requested topic is not available in the topic map in the future, dictations will now automatically revert to the General Medicine topic so that dictation continues to work for the user.
