20.2.0 Release
July 2025
- Fix for Back Quote Hotkey Conflict with Note Assist - In the previous release, if a user without the Note Assist feature enabled assigned the back quote key (the default hotkey for Note Assist) to another function such as Dictation, Shortcuts, or Intelligent Formatting, pressing the key would still attempt to launch Note Assist. This caused a JavaScript error and prevented the intended action from starting. This issue has been resolved. If Note Assist is later enabled for that user, Voice will now display a Hotkey Conflict message: "Key BACK_QUOTE is already registered by source Dictation [or Shortcuts, or Intelligent Formatting]. Cannot register it for source Note Assist. Please adjust the application settings." To resolve the conflict, the user will need to update the hotkey assignment for Note Assist or the conflicting feature in the Voice Settings. (D-13851, 7/17/2025, 20.2.0 b31)
20.1.1 Patch Release
- Code Signing Restored in 20.1.1 - Following the deployment of nVoq Voice 20.1.0, we identified that digital signatures were missing from certain files. In version 20.1.1, code signing has been restored for both
voice.exe
anduninstaller.exe
to ensure integrity and security. (D-13852, 6/10/2025, 20.1.1 b1)
20.1.0 Release
New Intelligent Formatting Warning Message - To help ensure you don’t lose your Intelligent Formatting summary, SOAP note, or custom formatting, a helpful reminder now appears if you try to close the Intelligent Formatting window without clicking the COPY button first. This message gives you the option to return to your transcript or close the window. You can also choose not to see the message again—and if you change your mind later, your administrator can easily restore it. It’s all about keeping your workflow smooth and stress-free. (S-18146, 5/8/2025, 20.1.0 b34 - Voice build 1.1.2)
Fix for Updates Link on About Screen - In the previous release, the updates link on the About screen intended to display current release updates was pointing to the wrong location. This issue has been resolved. The link now takes you to a new dedicated Voice Version History page, which will be updated with each new deployment of Voice. (D-13769, 5/13/2025, 20.1.0 b39 - Voice build 1.1.5)
Improved Visibility and Expanded Character Limit for Note Assist Failure Responses - Note Assist failure responses—introduced in the previous release to appear beneath failed categories—are designed to help you understand what’s missing from your note. In this release, we’ve made two key improvements to enhance their usefulness: 1. The character limit in nVoq Administrator has been increased, allowing administrators to write more detailed and informative messages that offer clearer guidance for meeting documentation requirements. 2. Failure responses now appear in red text on a pink background, easier to notice and reducing the chance of missing important feedback. These enhancements help ensure that Note Assist continues to support a smoother, more efficient documentation workflow. (S-18202, 5/13/2025, 20.1.0 b37 - Voice build 1.1.4; S-18191, 5/13/2025, 20.1.0 b39 - Voice build 1.1.5)
Improved Handling of Headings in Intelligent Formatting - In the previous release, Intelligent Formatting designs would occasionally insert asterisks around section headings in formatted notes. This issue has been resolved in SOAP Notes and custom designs. (S-18155, 5/16/2025, 20.1.0 b39)
Visual and Sign-In Changes in Voice After 20.1.0 Deployment - As part of our routine upgrade of third-party components, all users who use Auto Sign In to access Voice will need to sign in manually one time after the 20.1.0 update is installed. This is due to a security update that changes how passwords are stored. Once you sign in again, Auto Sign In will work just like it did before—no further action needed. Additionally, users running Voice 20.1 on Windows 11 may notice a subtle shadow box around the Voice icon and transcript bubble. This is a visual effect related to how Windows 11 renders elements and does not impact functionality. (S-17918, 5/20/2025, 20.1 b37 - Voice build 1.1.7)
