Changes listed on this page may be available now on the Test system (test.nvoq.com), but there could be changes listed here that are NOT YET in the version that is currently on Test. To see when the latest updates were deployed on Test, visit Test.nvoq.com Deployment Dates.

For release notes for nVoq mobile apps, see:

nVoq Dictation

The updates in this section impact all dictation clients, including SayIt, nVoq.Voice, and nVoq.Mobile Voice as well as ISV partner clients using nVoq dictation.
  • nVoq.Wireless Microphone for iOS Performance Improvement - The "EDS" dictation server was updated to slightly improve the processing speed of dictations recorded with the nVoq.Wireless Microphone for iOS. (This change was not applicable to the "ReDS" dictation server.) The decrease in processing time from this change alone may not be noticeable to the end user, but is part of a general effort to improve dictation processing speeds on the Wireless Microphone. Note: As of July 2022 EDS servers are no longer active on production systems, and there is no plan to activate them again for 17.1.0 or going forward. (B-16456, 4/4/2022)
  • ReDS Automatically Stops Dictations After 180 Seconds of Silence - After a configurable number seconds of silence (180 by default) is detected in a dictation, the "ReDS" dictation server will automatically stop processing the dictation. The dictation is marked with an error in Review & Correct stating, "Stopped dictation due to silence exceeding # seconds." The server is internally configurable to change the number of seconds, and the error message presented in Review & Correct displays the number of seconds configured on the server. ISVs need to update their clients to handle this error before 17.1.0 is deployed. See also API documentation updates below. (B-16629, 4/19/2022; B-16803, 6/28/2022)
  • ReDS Accepts WebM/Opus Audio - The ReDS dictation server was modified to accept the WebM (Opus) audio format. See release notes in nVoq.APIs.  (B-16663, 5/10/2022)
  • Fix for HTTP Job Sent to ReDS "Disappears" - In previous releases some HTTP calls handled by a ReDS would would just be dropped with no error message presented if they were handed off by the gateway to a WebSocket server just as the server was shutting down. Going forward if this happens an error stating, "Gateway encountered an error processing job" will be posted in nVoq.Administrator, and the client will receive a fatal server error. (D-12959, 6/16/2022)
  • Fix for Vocabulary Not Recognized - A third-party software upgrade introduced a problem with the profile server, causing it to not process pronunciations for vocabulary terms. This has been fixed by another upgrade to the software, which was applied to production profile servers on 7/12/2022. User profiles will need to be rebuilt to pick up this change, which can be done manually by adding, modifying, or deleting vocabulary. We are also working on a plan to update all user profiles system-wide. (D-13010, 7/12/2022)

SayIt and AgentAssist

  • Support for Windows 11 - SayIt (both .exe and .jnlp) will be supported on Windows 11 starting in the 17.1.0 release. As part of our work to prepare for this change, a defect was fixed which caused the operating system (OS) information to display incorrectly in the account properties for users running Windows 11. This was caused by Microsoft reporting these properties incorrectly in their own Windows version information. A work-around was put in place to override the incorrect information from Microsoft and instead use their build number to display the correct OS Name (Windows 11) and OS Version (11.0) in user account properties. (D-12875, 4/1/2022)
  • SayIt Dictations Populate Client Info in nVoq.Administrator  - To help with troubleshooting dictation issues, dictations recorded with SayIt will now populate Client Product, Client Vendor, and Client Version information in nVoq.Administrator on the Review & Correct page list view, and on the Detail Review & Correct page in the dictation Timeline. Previously these fields would be blank when SayIt was used for dictation. (B-16621, 4/12/2022)
  • SayIt Error for Long Silence Detected in Dictation Recording - SayIt was updated to handle the ReDS dictation server automatically stopping dictation processing when a configurable length of silence (180 seconds by default) is detected. (See 17.1.0 release notes under nVoq Dictation for more information about that.) The new error message says, "Long silence was detected. Please try again." When this error occurs, recording stops and any transcript that may have been recorded up to that point is pasted where the cursor was placed and is available in Review & Correct. Dictation recordings that display this error in SayIt are marked in Review & Correct with an error stating, "Stopped dictation due to silence exceeding # seconds." (B-16666, 6/2/2022; B-16803, 6/28/2022 )

nVoq.Voice

  • Small Improvements in Accuracy & Performance from New Encoder - The audio encoder in nVoq.Voice has been updated as part of our work to improve dictation accuracy in that client. This slightly improves accuracy and performance. (D-12852, 4/28/2022)
  • Send Feedback to nVoq Directly from nVoq.Voice - The Voice Settings screen (available from the gear icon next to the dictation button) now includes a new envelope icon at the bottom. The envelope icon opens a form from which you can send feedback directly to nVoq support. All fields on the form (email address, subject, message body, and your company) are required before you can send your message. After you click the Send button, a green success notification message appears to let you know the feedback was received. (B-16531, 5/10/2022)
  • Improved Accuracy with New Audio Format - The audio format that nVoq.Voice sends for dictation has been updated to one that works better with the built-in recorder in Voice's framework. This results in improved dictation accuracy that, in our testing, is now better (and faster) than SayIt. Note that the 17.1.0 version of Voice now only sends audio using this new format, which must be processed by a 17.1.0 ReDS dictation server. This means that if you download Voice from the Test system, dictation will not work if you connect to the Healthcare or Canada system until those systems have been upgraded to 17.1.0.  (B-16663, 5/10/2022)
  • Automatic Refresh of Note Assist - In addition to downloading Note Assist audits and categories when you sign in to Voice, Voice now checks for updates every 30 minutes. Prior to this change you had to sign out and sign back in to download changes made in nVoq.Administrator. (B-16528, 5/16/2022)
  • Voice Error for Long Silence Detected in Dictation Recording - Voice was updated to handle the ReDS dictation server automatically stopping dictation processing when a configurable length of silence (180 seconds by default) is detected. (See 17.1.0 release notes under nVoq Dictation for more information about that.) The new error message says, "Low audio detected. Dictation stopped due to long period of silence." When this error occurs, recording stops and any transcript that may have been recorded up to that point is pasted where the cursor was placed and is available in Review & Correct. Dictation recordings that display this error in Voice are marked in Review & Correct with an error stating, "Stopped dictation due to silence exceeding # seconds." (B-16664, 6/6/2022; B-16803, 6/28/2022 )
  • Support for Windows 11 - nVoq.Voice will be supported on Windows 11 starting in the 17.1.0 release. (D-12876, 6/8/2022)
  • Updated Voice Product Name in "New Update Ready to Install" Messages - The messages that appear when nVoq.Voice downloads a new version to your computer has been updated to display "nVoq.Voice" at the top instead of "electron.app.voice". Functionality is unchanged. (B-16480, 6/9/2022)
  • Revised About Screen Install Update Message - When a newer version of nVoq.Voice has been downloaded to your computer, the About screen presents a message and a button to make it easy to restart Voice and install the updated version. In previous releases this message said, "Updated downloaded. Will be installed on restart." and the text on the button said, "RESTART NOW". This was confusing to some users, who thought that the button would restart their computer and not just nVoq.Voice. The message has now been updated to, "A new version of nVoq.Voice is available." and the button text says, "Update Voice now" to make it clear that only nVoq.Voice will be restarted when clicking the button. (B-16547, 6/10/2022)
  • Longer Note Assist Delay - The Note Assist Delay postpones the actions between steps of capturing text and opening the Note Assist window with the text pasted in it, and it's necessary for users running Note Assist in a virtual desktop environment like Citrix. In the previous release the default delay was set to 30 milliseconds, but has now been increased to 100 milliseconds (.1 second) based on feedback from users who were encountering errors while running Note Assist on Citrix. The new default setting only applies to new user accounts and existing user accounts that have not signed in to nVoq.Voice, but is configurable by everyone on the Voice Settings screen. (B-16771, 6/24/2022)
  • Single Sign On Capability with Okta - Voice has been configured to work with Okta single-sign on (SSO) functionality. The automatic sign in capability of Voice works with this sign in method just like it does with an nVoq account. It is necessary to work with nVoq to get the app configured for your company to use this login method. Contact nVoq Support for assistance. (B-16739, 6/27/2022)
  • In-App Documentation Links Updated - We moved our documentation to a new provider, and as a result most of the in-application links to the nVoq.Voice documentation are temporarily broken. When you click on the question mark icon on the sign in screen, the settings screen, the shortcut screens, the training screen, or the Note Assist screen you are taken to a page that explains why the link is broken and includes links to each of the documentation pages. This also happens when clicking on Support Center from the system tray menu. Once the 17.1.0 version of nVoq.Voice is deployed on your system the links will work correctly. (B-16716, 6/29/2022)

Bug Fixes in nVoq.Voice

  • Fix for Inability to Switch Between Computers Running Voice in Wireless Mic - In the previous releases of nVoq.Voice you cannot have multiple computer names associated with nVoq.Voice if you change the "Wireless Microphone Computer" name in the Voice Settings. Adding a custom Wireless Microphone Computer name creates an account property (Voice Wmic Computer Name) that follows you around from computer to computer. This means you cannot be logged in to Voice on multiple computers and switch between them in the iOS or Android Wireless Microphone. The work-around is to keep the default Wireless Microphone Computer name, which is the Device Name listed in the user's Windows Settings followed by -voice (e.g. GGLASS-voice). This has been fixed in the 17.1.0 release of nVoq.Voice. When nVoq.Voice is upgraded the 17.1.0 version on your computer, any previously assigned custom "Wireless Microphone Computer" name is removed from the nVoq.Voice Settings screen, and the field will once again list the default computer name. In 17.1.0, the Wireless Microphone Computer name is now saved for the computer instead of the account, which means that users sharing a computer will see the same custom Wireless Microphone Computer name if they log into their nVoq.Voice account on the same computer. (D-12921, 5/23/2022)
  • Fix for Ability to Set Invalid Hotkey Combinations on Settings Screen - The following key combinations are not allowed as hotkeys for dictation, popup shortcuts, or Note Assist because they are already assigned to functions in Windows: Ctrl A, Ctrl C, Ctrl F, Ctrl S, Ctrl V, Ctrl X, Ctrl Y, and Ctrl Z. In previous releases nVoq.Voice would not stop you from configuring these key combinations as a hotkey for any of these functions, but they would not work. For example, if you set Ctrl A as your dictation hotkey, your dictation would never transcribe. In the 17.1.0 version of nVoq.Voice, if you attempt to configure one of these key combinations for dictation, popup shortcuts, or Note Assist, you will see a message that states, "Invalid hotkey" and the setting will not be saved. Instead it will revert back to the previous valid hotkey setting. (D-12964, 6/29/2022)
  • Fix for Password Expiration Off By One Day - When your password is scheduled to expire in one day, you see a message stating that "Your password will expire in 1 day." However, if you sign in the next day, instead of being allowed to delay changing your password until the end of the day, you see a message stating, "Your password will expire in 0 days" and you are required to change your password before you can access nVoq.Voice. This has been fixed. In 17.1.0, on the last day before a password expires you will see a message stating, "Your password will expire today" and you will be able to delay changing your password for one more day, until it has actually expired. (D-12853, 7/5/2022)

nVoq.Administrator

  • Missing Information Warning - Instead of the Save button only becoming active once all required information has been entered, the Save button is now always active and a warning appears when you try to save a page with required information missing. In cases where the missing information is something that needs to be selected from a checkbox or a radio button, the warning appears as pink box with red text above the section with missing information. For example, the Add Account page now shows a warning message stating, "At least one product must be selected" above the Products section if no product has been selected when you attempt to save the account. Sections in which information must be entered manually into a text field will change to red and the word "Required" will appear below the required field. Drop-down menus will not turn red, but the word "Required" appears in small text below the menu. This change affects the following pages in nVoq.Administrator: Add Account, Edit Account, Upload Accounts, Add API Key, Edit API Key, Add Custom Group, Edit Custom Group, Add Note Assist Audit, Edit Note Assist Audit, Add Note Assist Category, Edit Note Assist Category, Add Organization, Edit Organization, Upload Sentence Models, Create Sentence Models from Corrected Text, New Folder, Edit Folder, New Shortcut, Edit Shortcut, Upload Shortcuts, Add Substitution, Edit Substitution, Upload Substitutions, Add Theme, Edit Theme, Add Vocabulary, Edit Vocabulary, Upload Vocabulary, Add System Account, Edit System Account, Add Tenant, and Edit Tenant. (B-16542, 4/8/2022)
  • SayIt Dictations Populate Client Info in Review & Correct - To help with troubleshooting dictation issues, dictations recorded with SayIt will now popular Client Product, Client Vendor, and Client Version information on the Review & Correct page list view, and on the Detail Review & Correct page in the dictation Timeline. Previously these fields would be blank when SayIt was used for dictation. (B-16621, 4/12/2022)
  • Custom Column Order on Review & Correct - The order of columns in the Review & Correct list view can now be customized to your liking. The Display Columns drop-down menu (which was previously used to select the columns that display on the page) has been removed and replaced by a new tool icon that opens the Customize Columns window. In the Customize Columns window you can not only select the columns to display on the page, but you can also change the order in which they appear. A brief explanation of the information displayed in each column is also presented in this window. Column selection and order is saved when you navigate to other pages in nVoq.Administrator, and when you log out and log back in. (B-16332, 4/20/2022)
  • SYSTEM LEVEL Note Assist Categories Can Be Renamed - When the ability to add or edit Note Assist categories was first added to nVoq.Administrator, it was impossible to change the name of a category once it had been saved. If you needed to change a category name, you had to create a new category and then delete the old one, making sure not to forget to add the new category name to the appropriate audits. In the 17.1.0 release the category name can now be updated without having to create a whole new category. As a reminder, the Note Assist page in nVoq.Administrator can only be accessed by system level admins. (B-16488, 5/4/2022)
  • Send Feedback to nVoq Directly from nVoq.Administrator - The menu available from the black question mark icon in the top right corner of nVoq.Administrator now includes a new link from which you can send feedback to nVoq. The envelope icon labeled "Send Feedback" opens a form which sends an email to nVoq Support. All fields on the form (email address, subject, message body, and your company) are required before you can send your message. After you click the Send button, a green success notification message appears to let you know the feedback was received. (B-16531, 5/10/2022)
  • Plan Selected Automatically When Creating Accounts - If your tenant has only one subscription Plan available on the Add Account or Upload Account page, it will now be automatically selected when creating an account. The Plan setting can be easily overlooked, but you can't save the account without it. This will make it easier to create accounts, as you will have one less setting you need to configure before clicking the Save button. Note that if your tenant has two or more plans available on these pages, you will still need to select one before you can save the account. Plans available for your tenant are configured at the system level. (B-16563, 5/11/2022)
  • Improved Buttons on Detail Review & Correct - Per customer request the buttons at the bottom of the Detail Review & Correct page have been reorganized and improved. The arrow direction on the Previous and Next buttons now point up and down to better indicate the direction in which they move in the list of items. Previously the arrows pointed left and right. The Save button has also been moved to improve workflow. It's now closer to the Next and Previous buttons. Previously the order of the buttons was: Clear Corrected, Poor Quality, Close and Save. In the 17.1.0 release the order is: Save, Clear Corrected, Poor Quality, and Close. (B-16423, 5/19/2022)
  • SYSTEM LEVEL Upload/Download Note Assist Audits and Categories - Note Assist audits and categories can now be downloaded and uploaded as CSV files so that they can easily be reused for different organizations. (B-16645, 5/26/2022
  • Email Transaction Info from Detail Review & Correct - It's now easier than ever to send transaction information from Review & Correct to nVoq Support. A new email icon has been added to the blue toolbar on the Detail Review & Correct page which opens an email that includes the following information about the transaction: environment, ID, username, account first and last name, audio length, status, submit time, audio level, accuracy percentage, word count, review date, reviewed by name, external ID, and audio observations. If the transaction is a dictation additional information from the top of the Timeline tab will also be included (client product, client vendor, client version, the UUID of the dictation, microphone used, queue depth, queue time, topic, total time, and upload delay). (B-16712, 5/31/2022)
  • Audio Observations for Review & Correct Transactions - There is a new field at the bottom of the Detail Review & Correct page for all transactions called Audio Observations. In this field a system-level administrator can add tags relating to audio or accuracy issues in order to identify at-risk users, or to identify transactions that represent an ideal experience. This field and the tags added to it are visible to anyone who has access to the Detail Review & Correct page. Tags can also be viewed on the Review & Correct page list view by adding a custom column. Tags can only be added by system-level administrators. (B-16552, 6/2/2022)
  • Logging for Mobile Voice - Administrators can now view client logs for nVoq.Mobile Voice from the Logging page in nVoq.Administrator. When logging is enabled for a user account, Mobile Voice logs are automatically sent to nVoq.Administrator anytime a user signs out of Mobile Voice. An administrator can also request a log from the Logging page. Requested logs may take up to 15 minutes to upload. Mobile Voice client logs are continuously captured on the user's device at the highest logging level ("DEBUG") even if logging is not enabled for the account. Refer to 17.1.0 release notes for nVoq.Mobile Voice for more information about client logging. (B-16280, 6/2/2022; D-13008, 7/13/2022)
  • Download Review & Correct Transactions - You can now download transaction data from Review & Correct. On the Review & Correct page list view there is a new download icon in the blue toolbar which creates a Comma Separated Values (CSV) file that includes data from the columns listed on the screen. Use the Customize Columns feature to add or remove columns that display in the file. A headset icon/checkbox has been added on the left side of each transaction which allows you to select specific transactions to include in the file, or you can download all transactions that display on your screen. (B-16713, 6/3/2022)
  • Substitution Information Added to Substitution Pages - A brief description of what substitutions can be used for and a link to the support documentation has been added to the Add Substitution, Edit Substitution, and Upload Substitutions pages. This was done to help administrator users better understand how to use substitutions and more easily access additional information. As a reminder, the white question mark in the blue toolbar on each of those pages link directly to the documentation for that page. (B-16509, 6/9/2022)
  • Vocabulary Information Added to Vocabulary Pages - A brief description of what vocabulary can be used for and a link to the support documentation has been added to the Add Vocabulary, Edit Vocabulary , and Upload Vocabulary pages. This was done to help administrator users better understand what vocabulary is used for and to more easily access information about it. As a reminder, the white question mark in the blue toolbar on each of those pages link directly to the documentation for that page. (B-16508, 6/9/2022)
  • SYSTEM LEVEL Documentation Links Updated - We moved our documentation to a new provider, and as a result all of the system level documentation links in nVoq.Administrator are temporarily broken. When you click on the white question mark icon in the blue toolbar on any of the system level pages, you get a 404 error. Once the 17.1.0 version of nVoq.Administrator is deployed, the links will work correctly. (B-16804, 6/29/2022)
  • Conversion to UTC - Some time after the 17.1.0 deployment, a migration script will update the database to support the conversion of DateTime columns from Mountain Time to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). This will happen for Healthcare and Secure, but not Canada since that system is already on UTC. Except for the time stamp for sentence models created by the system now being in UTC, this change should not be noticeable. Your transactions will continue to appear in your selected time zone. (B-16660, 6/30/2022)
  • Assign a Different Client Group to Multiple Accounts at Once - In the previous release, a new actions icon (three stacked dots) was added to the blue toolbar on the Accounts page when one or more accounts is selected in the list view. In this release, a new option to Update Client Group has been added to that menu. When you select this option you are taken to the Update Client Group page from which you can select a different group to which to move the accounts. Selected accounts do not appear on the Update Client Group page if they do not have Client Access or if they have an Administrator Role at a higher Administrator Level than yours. If any of the selected accounts was already in the newly selected group, they will remain in that group and still appear in the notification message as having an updated client group. (B-16437, 7/5/2022)
  • Speed Improvements for Large Mass Account Updates of Enabling and Disabling Accounts and Note Assist - In the previous release the ability to enable or disable multiple accounts at once or to enable or disable Note Assist for multiple accounts at once was added to the Accounts page. In 17.1.0 these processes run faster. Instead of updating each account individually, now up to 100 accounts can be updated at once. There is also now a progress indicator on the page to let you know that something is happening while changes are being saved. The indicator displays what group of 100 accounts is currently in progress (e.g.101-200 of 325). You can navigate to different pages in nVoq.Administrator while accounts are being updated, and a notification message appears when all accounts have been updated. (B-16646, 7/5/2022)
  • "New" Label Removed from Products Setting on Add/Edit Accounts Pages - You may notice that the New label has been removed from the Products setting on the Add Account and Edit Account pages. As a reminder, that setting was added in the previous (17.0.0) release, but is still for accounting purposes only and does not actually limit a user's ability to sign in to or use any clientThe green "info" icon remains next to the setting, which you can click on to see informational text.  (B-16816, 7/7/2022)
  • Update Case of Substitution Spoken Form - You can now edit the case of the spoken form of a substitution (e.g. changing the spoken form from "patient" to "Patient" or "PATIENT") for both account and organization substitutions. Previously this would present an error notification stating that the substitution already exists. The work-around was to delete the original substitution and create a new one. In the 17.1.0 release you will be able to make this change on the Edit Substitution page without getting an error. As a reminder, you should always test changes to a spoken form of a substitution to make sure it still works for you. (B-16764, 7/8/2022)
  • New Product Usage Report - The new Product Usage report displays the nVoq dictation client product name and version number on which a user dictated. Statistics include which nVoq dictation clients are assigned to a user account, all nVoq clients used by a user account during the selected date range, the last nVoq client used during the selected date range (for dictation transactions), the date at time of last activity (dictation or shortcut) regardless of selected date range, and the last nVoq client used with the last dictation regardless of selected date range. (B-16675, 7/14/2022)

Bug Fixes in nVoq.Administrator

  • Read-Only Admin Can Configure Enabled Through Date for Existing Accounts - In the 17.0.0 release of nVoq.Administrator an administrator with a role of Read-Only is able to configure an Enabled Through date for an existing user by clicking on the calendar icon next to the field and selecting a date or by typing a date in the field manually. All other fields on the Edit Account page are grayed out. Though there is no Save button available at the bottom of the page, there is one in the "Save changes?" dialog that appears after clicking the Cancel button. In the 17.1.0 release, both the Enabled Through field and calendar icon are disabled for Read-Only users. (D-12920, 3/23/2022)
  • Two Shortcuts with Same Name Do Not Both Appear in Folder - An account level shortcut and an organization shortcut with the same name can both be added to a user's shortcut folder, and in nVoq.Administrator both shortcuts should display in the list of shortcuts on the New Folder and Edit Folder pages. In the previous release however, only the account shortcut was displayed. If the organization level shortcut was added to a folder, and then an account shortcut with the same name was later created, the Edit Folder page would still count the organization shortcut at the top of the list in the "items added" calculation, but only the account shortcut would be displayed in the list. The new account shortcut would be unchecked, making the "items added" number no longer match the number of shortcuts that had a checkmark. This has been fixed. Now an organization level shortcut and an account level shortcut with the same name both display in the shortcut list on the New Folder and Edit Folder pages in nVoq.Administrator, and the number of "items added" to the folder matches the number of shortcuts selected with a checkmark. Note that in SayIt, only the account shortcut appears in the folder and in the shortcut menu. (D-12821, 3/24/2022)
  • Enabled Status of Read-Only Admin Account Cannot Be Changed - When trying to enable or disable an existing account with an Administrator Role of "Read-Only" and no Client Access, an error presents stating, "Could not save [account name]. Cannot change enabled status of an account within a disabled organization" even though none of the account's organizations are disabled. This has been fixed. (D-12907, 3/24/2022)
  • Notification Messages for Multiple Account Update Failures Missing Usernames - After a failed attempt to enable, disable, or update products for multiple accounts using the actions menu in the blue toolbar on the Accounts page list view, the notification message (which you can see by clicking on the bell icon at the top of the screen) should list the usernames of the accounts that failed to be updated. A bug in the 17.0.0 release of nVoq.Administrator prevents this from happening, but it's been fixed in the 17.1.0 release. (D-12934, 3/28/2022)
  • Fix for Large Mass Account Updates of Update Enabled Through and Update Products - In the 17.0.0 version of nVoq.Administraor mass updates on the Accounts page to Update Enabled Through or Update Products does not work if the selected number of accounts is too high. When attempting to change these settings on approximately 500 or more accounts at once, the page fails to load. As a work-around you can select a fewer number of accounts (e.g. around 400 accounts seems to work fine). Improvements have been made in the 17.1.0 release of nVoq.Administrator to make the process of changing assigned products or the Enabled Through date for hundreds or thousands of accounts at once much faster. First, the speed of opening the page for Update Enabled Through and Update Product has been improved. In 17.0.0 this is extremely slow as these pages display all of the accounts to be updated, and separate requests were being made to the server to get the current status of the Enabled Through date or product for each one. Second, saving changes on each page is much faster too. Instead of saving each account individually, now up to 100 accounts can be saved at once. Finally, there is now a progress indicator on the page to let you know that something is happening while changes are being saved. The indicator displays what group of 100 accounts is currently in progress (e.g.101-200 of 325). You can navigate to different pages in nVoq.Administrator while accounts are being saved, and a notification message appears when all accounts have been saved. (D-12938, 4/25/2022)
  • Fix for Enabled Through Date Off by 1 Day During Daylight Savings - In the 17.0.0 release the Enabled Through date is off by one day between the dates of 11/7/2022 and 3/12/2023. The work-around is to select one day AHEAD of the date you want when configuring an Enabled Through date that is between these dates, which will display the correct date when you re-open the account. This has been fixed in the 17.1.0 release of nVoq.Administrator, so you will be able to select the exact date for the Enabled Through date regardless of daylight savings time. (D-12949, 5/27/2022)
  • Fix for Ability to Set Invalid Hotkey Combinations on Group Add/Edit Organization Page - The following key combinations are not allowed as hotkeys for dictation, voice shortcuts, or popup shortcuts because they are already assigned to functions in Windows: Ctrl A, Ctrl C, Ctrl F, Ctrl S, Ctrl V, Ctrl X, Ctrl Y, and Ctrl Z. In previous releases nVoq.Administrator would not stop you from configuring these key combinations as a hotkey for any of these functions. However, when a user tried to use the hotkey combination, it would not work. For example, if you set Ctrl A as the dictation hotkey for a group, that group's dictations would never transcribe. In the 17.1.0 version of nVoq.Administrator, if you attempt to configure one of these key combinations for dictation, voice shortcuts, or popup shortcuts, you will see a message that states, "Invalid hotkey" and you will not be able to click the Save button on the page. • Fix for Username Edits Allowing Capital Letters - When an account is first created, the username is saved in all lowercase letters even if capital letters are entered in the Username field on the Add Account page. However when the username is edited, this does not happen. Instead uppercase letters entered in the Username field on the Edit Account page are saved that way, which causes problems when pulling logs and caching profile artifacts on the dictation server. This has been fixed. Now capital letters are automatically changed to lowercase when editing a username. A migration script will run when 17.1.0 is deployed on your system to clean up existing usernames that include capital letters. (D-12999, 7/5/2022)
  • Fix for Password Expiration Off By One Day - When your password is scheduled to expire in one day, you see a message stating that "Your password will expire in 1 day." However, if you sign in the next day, instead of being allowed to delay changing your password until the end of the day, you see a message stating, "Your password will expire in 0 days" and you are required to change your password before you can access nVoq.Administrator. This has been fixed. In 17.1.0, on the last day before a password expires you will see a message stating, "Your password will expire today" and you will be able to delay changing your password for one more day, until it has actually expired. (D-12853, 7/5/2022)
  • Fix for Word Document Sentence Models Include Gibberish Words - In previous releases, if a SYSTEM level administrator uploads a sentence model document in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), the file contains binary characters and "Find Unknown Vocabulary" shows that the files include gibberish words. Since the Word file is not converted to a text file properly,  it is not properly applied to user profiles. This only occurs when SYSTEM level administrators upload Word document sentence models because those accounts were using the wrong endpoint when uploading the sentence model, and the files were actually not being converted at all. This has been fixed. (D-12837, 7/5/2022)

  • Error Handling WebSocket Method Updated for New Silence Detection Error - After a configurable number seconds of silence (180 by default) is detected in a dictation, the "ReDS" dictation server will automatically stop processing the dictation. The dictation is marked with an error in Review & Correct stating, "Stopped dictation due to silence exceeding # seconds." The server is internally configurable to change the number of seconds, and the error message presented in nVoq.Adminstraor's Review & Correct displays the number of seconds configured on the server. TOO_MUCH_SILENCE: Stopped dictation due to silence exceeding 180 seconds. ISVs need to update their clients to handle this error before 17.1.0 is deployed. (B-16629, 4/19/2022; B-16803, 6/28/2022 )
  • New Batch Request API Endpoint - As part of our work in allowing nVoq.Administrator to make mass updates to hundreds or thousands of accounts faster, a new Batch Request API endpoint has been created. This endpoint allows you to put several API calls into a single HTTP request. Batch requests are limited to 100 requests per batch, only account endpoints are available, and only POST requests are allowed. (D-12938, 4/25/2022)
  • ReDS Accepts WebM/Opus Audio -As part of our work to improve dictation accuracy in nVoq.Voice, the ReDS dictation server was modified to accept the WebM (Opus) audio format for WebSocket dictations. The API How-To documentation for WebSocket Audio Format was updated with this information. (B-16663, 5/10/2022)
  • Mid-Dictation Commands for WebSocket Dictations - In this release we introduce the "beta" version of a new feature that allows ISV partners to capture commands within a WebSocket dictation and perform actions on them. The command phrases themselves are excluded from the user's dictation transcript, and will also be missing from the dictation transcript in Review & Correct. (For this release, no command activity will be logged in the database.) The STARTDICTATION WebSocket method has been updated with a new commandList parameter that allows you to send a list of commands to the server. Using this parameter you can specify an optional command ID,  the command phrase, and optional weighting for the command to help with recognition. Command phrases should be 2-6 words long, not be phrases that would normally be dictated, must be spelled out (e.g. "three" and not "3"), and only include words that are in the dictation topic dictionary. Command lists should not include multiple similar phrases (e.g. "Select number one" and "Select number one hundred seventy") as they will likely perform poorly. The server uses a new COMMAND method to provide the client with messages containing the commands. Audio offset and length are provided for each matching command. A new WARNING method was added which returns a list of invalid commands that include unknown words not in the dictation topic. If your commands are not recognized you can try using different commands or try changing their weighting. If you continue to have problems with commands being recognized, submit a ticket to nVoq Support that includes your command list and the dictation IDs for dictations in which the commands were not recognized.  (B-16405, 5/18/2022)
  • Fix for Update Substituted Text Endpoint Returning Incorrect Error - The API endpoint to update substituted text has been revised to return a 404 instead of a 500 error when a group is configured to never save text, audio, or dictation information. The API now returns a 404 with a message of "text unavailable" in this scenario. (D-12975, 6/28/2022)
  • Support for Okta SSO Added to Administration APIs - The API endpoints under the Administration section now support Okta single sign-on (SSO). The documentation for the endpoints under Accounts, Folders, Login, Products, Shortcuts, Transactions, User, and Batch now include Okta_token authorization. (B-16738, 6/29/2022)
  • Fix for Update Account Username API Allowing Capital Letters and Spaces - As part of our work to fix an issue with the Edit Accounts page in nVoq.Administrator allowing capital letters to be saved in a username, the endpoint to update an account username has been corrected to automatically change capital letters in a username to lowercase, as well as to remove any spaces (which also could be included in a username using the API). Having capital letters or spaces in a username causes problems for the account when pulling logs and caching profile artifacts on the dictation server.  In 17.1.0, if the endpoint is called with the username "George Glass 22", the username will be reformatted and automatically saved as "georgeglass22". If you call the endpoint with an empty username or just white space, a bad request will be returned. A migration script will run when 17.1.0 is deployed on your system to clean up existing usernames that include capital letters or spaces. API documentation was not updated. (D-12999, 7/5/2022)
  • Enable or Disable User Account Endpoint Accepts JSON - The Enable or Disable a User's Account endpoint has been updated to allow it to take JSON data in addition to x-www-form-urlencoded. Select application/json next to Request Body Schema to switch the samples on the right side of the documentation. (B-16646, 7/5/2022)
  • Update Case of Substitution Spoken Form - You can now edit the case of a spoken form of a substitution (e.g. changing the spoken form from "patient" to "Patient" or "PATIENT"). Previously this would present a 404 error because the substitution already exists. The work-around was to delete the original substitution and create a new one. In the 17.1.0 release you will be able to make this change using the APIs to modify account or organization substitutions without getting an error. As a reminder, you should always test changes to a spoken form of a substitution to make sure it still works for you. There was no change to API documentation. (B-16764, 7/8/2022)
  • Support for Okta SSO Added to Dictation and File Server APIs - API endpoints under the Dictation and File Server sections now support Okta single sign-on (SSO). The documentation for the relevant endpoints under Dictation (Dictations, WebSockets, and Events) and all endpoints under File Server now include Okta_Token authorization. (B-16740, 7/8/2022)
