Article Summary

Issue:

When attempting to log in to an nVoq application I get a message that states, "Your account has been temporarily locked. Please try again later or reset your password."

computer-lockedThis message displays if you enter an incorrect password too many times OR if you have recently changed your password while another nVoq application is still open and logged in (with an old password) on another computer or virtual desktop. If the latter, you may get this message every time you try to log in, even after you change your password.

What to do:
  • First, ensure that you do not have another nVoq application open on another computer or virtual desktop. If you do, you will need to close out those extraneous sessions. (In addition to checking your computer for open sessions of Voice or nVoq.Administrator, be sure to check mobile devices that may have Mobile Voice or the nVoq.Wireless Microphone running!)
  • If you are certain you do not have another nVoq application session going on another computer or virtual environment, you have two options:
    1. You can wait 15 minutes for the lock to expire and then enter your password. Be sure to WAIT the ENTIRE 15 minutes. If you attempt to log in before the 15 minutes are over, the clock will start over with another 15 minute lockout period.
    2. You can change your password by clicking on the Forgot Password or Username? link on the login screen. See Forgot Password or Username for more information.
If you attempt to reset your password but enter an incorrect username, you will see a message stating, "I am sorry, your password could not be reset." This error most commonly occurs when the wrong username is entered (for example, you may be entering your email address when in fact your username is something else).
