Topic Update: 10-31-2024

Accuracy - General

  • New Drugs/Devices Support- Corpus and dictionary support for new drugs and medical devices approved by the FDA in August 2024 have been added. (B-17720)

  • Corrections added to Topics- Corrected transcripts that were submitted in August 2024 have been added to their corresponding Topic's corpus. New words found in these corrections have been added to the dictionary. (B-17719)

  • Phone Number Formatting: Fixed an issue where phone numbers spoken with the words "dash" or "hyphen" between the area code, prefix, and last four digits were returning with incorrect formatting, such as extra spaces between digits. (D-13576)

  • Single Letter Returning Instead of Full Word- We've reduced the occurrence of letter homonyms (e.g., "R" for "are," "C" for "see," and "N" for "in") being returned in place of their full-word equivalents. This improvement involved cleaning up the corpus and enhancing support for correct phrase detection. This work is part of our ongoing efforts, and we will continue to make further enhancements. (D-13571)

  • Fixed Typo in " 'Please’- Corrected an issue where 'pleas' occasionally returned instead of 'please.' " (D-13603)

  • Consistent Word Formatting – Previously, certain words were inconsistently formatted, sometimes returning hyphenated, as two separate words, or as a single word. Now, the following words will always return as single, unhyphenated words. With this consistency in place, substitutions can be applied as needed to reintroduce hyphens or spaces. (B-17680)
