Article Summary

SSO (signing in with Microsoft or Okta) is NOT SUPPORTED when using nVoq Voice with the nVoq Wireless Microphone.
You must use an nVoq account (sign in with "Username), and you must sign in to Voice using the SAME nVoq account that you use to sign in to the Wireless Microphone.
  1. On your computer, place your cursor in the application where you would like your dictation to appear.

  2. On the wireless microphone app, tap the dictation button (microphone icon) to start recording.

    • If this is the first time using the app, you may see a message asking if you want to allow the "WirelessMic" to record audio. You must tap ALLOW in order to use the app for dictation. android-wmic-allow-to-record-audio-tapping-crop
    • If your password is changed in the dictation client or the administrator console while you are logged in to the Wireless Microphone, the next time you attempt to use dictation you will see a message stating, "There is an issue with your account. Please contact your administrator." Sign out of the Wireless Mic app and sign back in with your new password.

    • If you get a message stating that "your account doesn't have a role assigned," your account was configured without Client Access.  


  1. The button will be orange while in record mode. Say your dictation.
    • An audio meter above the dictation button moves as you speak to let you know sound is being recorded.  
    • The audio meter indicates that the app can hear you, and your volume level is indicated by how high the convex marks reach up towards the top of the screen.

    • Error encountered during dictation. Please try again.- If you see this message it means that too much silence was detected in your recording by the dictation server, and the recording was stopped. Any dictation that was transcribed up to this point should be pasted on your computer. ("Silence" in regards to this error means the absence of words, so could include noises and sounds that are not interpreted as words.)


 

  1. Tap the dictation button again to stop recording.

  2. Your dictation displays on your computer where you placed your cursor.

    If your dictation transcript does not paste where you placed your cursor, be sure that you have the correct dictation client/computer selected on the app.
    The name listed below the All Shortcuts button is where dictation text will paste. Tap that link to switch to another computer on which you are signed in to a dictation client.

  3. Optionally, if you want to listen to your dictation recording, click the play () button.
    This recording is cleared when you leave the application.
